Mentor1 year agoIf you don’t have the “Anvie” to keep going with ebay, it’s really not a big deal ...Ebay will get over it 😉
To make things easier for you, I’m giving you the link right away to leave the site.

Mentor1 year agoSorry, but it's up to you to make the effort to communicate in the language of the country in which you are buying, not the other way around, and therefore to use a translator if you don't master the language.

OP1 year agoI don't agree with having to use a translator all the time because eBay or an American seller speaks to me in English or writes to me. It's tiring, brain-dumbing, and unpleasant not to be able to communicate in the language of your own country. This causes mistakes and misunderstandings that are harmful to the customer. The one making the profit is the seller, so they should make themselves available to their customers. **bleep** for example poses no problem and the sellers, often Chinese, all write in French; otherwise I would have left the site a long time ago. I really believe that customers who accept this don't like France and are ready to buy under any conditions, even the most humiliating and uncomfortable ones. There would still be many other negative reasons to bring up because English is not a language that makes you want to buy when you are French, French being richer and using more words than English to describe or represent reality. So I stand by what I said. Best regards. Angles eBay customer .... but not for long!

Mentor1 year agoHello @marie-ang-72
Since you only want to correspond in French, don’t look or buy abroad...
Why make life harder for yourself...??
Best regards

"(site) for example poses no problem and the sellers, often Chinese, all write in French; otherwise I would have left the site a long time ago "
It's simply because the site uses a built-in translator in the messaging system... In the best case, Chinese sellers speak English, but absolutely not French.
And for the record, there is also a built-in translator in the messaging system on eBay. So in the event of an exchange with a seller, you'll receive the messages translated into French.
On the other hand, as far as eBay messages are concerned, they will be in the language of the site that contacts you. In your case, as already said: "your issue is handled by ebay.com. Hence the messages in English."
For you, the simple fact of using a translator is, I quote: "tiring, dumb and unpleasant..."
You've been given a VERY simple solution to solve your problem, but that's too much for you...
At this stage, the only solution is to stop making any purchases outside of France...

Mentor1 year agoDo you find it humiliating to use an online translator ??? 😮
Is it the same when you use a calculator because you can't work out the result in your head?
"the French language being richer and using more words than the English language" = it's funny to judge the richness of a language that you claim to know nothing about...

your seller is in the United States, so your issue is handled by ebay.com. Hence the messages in English.
You just need to use an online translator if needed.
