VAT refund after having to pay it twice
Summary: fimafil-9et14q said they had paid VAT twice for a purchase made from Germany to Switzerland and are looking for advice on how to contact eBay in writing for a refund. koalagris shared a link to an eBay help page to resolve this problem, which fimafil-9et14q welcomed as helpful.
Hello,
I called customer service (since there is no way to contact Ebay in writing) to explain that I was charged VAT when making a purchase from Germany and that DHL charged me VAT again on receipt. That is to say, Ebay did not handle the VAT paperwork at customs. So I paid VAT twice.
They told me to send the invoices to Ebay by email to get the excess refunded, but there is no way to contact Ebay in writing?
Can someone help me please.

OP1 year agoTo clarify, it's a shipment from Germany to Switzerland, which is why there is VAT at customs.
