shipping cost reimbursement
Summary: mikkikong73 asks whether he has to refund the shipping costs for a parcel not picked up by a buyer, despite it being sent on time. koalagris replies that since the buyer refused the parcel, they lose eBay’s protections, and that only the item price should be refunded once it has been recovered.
hello, someone bought items from me, there was a pickup point mentioned on the order, I sent them to that pickup point then the buyer wanted to change pickup points but the parcels had already been sent, once he found out he told me he wouldn't go pick them up (even though the locker was closer to his place), so the parcels were sent back to me
my question is: do I also have to refund the shipping costs even though he refused to pick them up and they were sent on time, the day after the purchase
thank you

By not picking up their parcel, the buyer lost the benefit of eBay’s buyer guarantee:
https://www.ebay.fr/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/rglement-de-la-garantie-client-ebay?id=4210&st=3&pos=1&query=R%C3%A8glement%20de%20la%20Garantie%20client%20eBay&intent=exclusions%20garantie%20ebay&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1238#section2
So, on your side, you only have to refund the item itself, once you’ve recovered the parcel.
Best regards
