Refund
Hello
I canceled a sale because the item was no longer available. I refunded the transaction amount via my bank account (even though I didn't receive any payment).
Ebay did collect the sale amount, shouldn't I be reimbursed?
I don't understand why Ebay doesn't directly refund the amount paid by the buyer?

"I don’t understand why Ebay doesn’t refund the amount paid by the buyer directly?" = because the seller is liable for the ebay commission fees (sale refusal), so the amount paid back to them will be reduced by the ebay fees.
As for the refund, please check with customer service:
