relisting of items in free-renewal auctions
Summary: l_oiseaurare expresses his dissatisfaction with the site's new rules, which seem to offer the possibility of renewing auction listings for free, but says he does not benefit from it as a long-time seller. He notes that only new sellers seem to enjoy this advantage, while his monthly sales quota is affected. francexpressdeal clarifies that the "if available" option is not tied to old or new sellers, but rather depends on the category of items in which this auto-renewal option is offered.
Hello
Since the site introduced the new rules, the policy says there is a free renewal of listings for auction-format items but indicates " (if available) " in the policy; as a seller who has been on the site for a long time, I learned that in fact only new sellers benefit from this advantage? Indeed, as a seller with an account that has existed for a long time, I don't have this option and a systematic deduction from my monthly sales quota is made if I choose this option by changing the rule that applies to the relevant sales! Since then I no longer have any credit on my 150 no-insertion-fee listings.
I find that this measure is not appropriate and, from a certain point of view, unfair...

Mentor3 weeks agoHello again @l_oiseaurare
you say: "the regulations state a free renewal of listings for items in auction format but indicate " (if available) " in the regulations"
Could you please send us the eBay link that refers to this, please?

I just understood. No need to send the link. You’re referring to this help page:
Relist items | eBay
It states (for auctions): "If you select the automatic relisting option (if available) when you create your listing"
The "if available" has absolutely nothing to do with new sellers. It’s simply because this option isn’t available in all categories.
Once you go beyond the number of free renewals, it’s normal for it to be deducted from your quota since you will have done a "manual" relisting.
