Repair Service BMW CCC - Startet nicht / Keine Anzeige
Summary: led0950 expresses concerns about a BMW car AAA module sent for repair in Germany. After an initial warranty repair, the module failed again. The repairer is said to have promised a replacement, but six months have passed without any resolution. koalagris advises led0950 to contact the seller or manufacturer directly, pointing out that eBay’s warranty is limited to 30 days. led0950 is considering sending a registered letter to get a response from the seller.
Hello dear buyer friends,
I’m coming here to ask for your help and advice because something very unusual has happened to me with a seller whose intentions are no longer clear, without wanting to accuse or slander him from the outset.
Let me explain:
It involves a repair of a CCC module (car communication computer) for a BMW car. It’s a sort of onboard computer that doesn’t just handle communication but more or less everything in the car. This module has now been sent for the second time to a well-known repairer in Germany whose name I’ll leave out for now. The first repair went well, with a 2-year warranty on the repairs, except that the device broke down again during the warranty period.
So I sent it back to them with their agreement and they confirmed receipt. That was in March 2023, so 6 months ago.
When I contacted them two to three months after sending it, the repairer told me that it had to be replaced with a new one and that the manufacturer was asking for delays because of a shortage of electronic components, so he mentioned the components crisis. I still wanted to ask e-Bay to step in, but there is no longer any trace of the purchase on the site so I can’t report anything, and I also can’t find how to contact e-Bay support without being sent back to “contact the seller”, whereas I have the impression (after several message exchanges) that the seller is trying to buy time and is just stringing me along.
So my request for help concerns this issue: how can I escalate this matter to e-Bay, because I don’t feel and don’t see myself protected by buyer protection, and I believe the seller is well aware of this and no longer intends to send my CCC module back given its price online.
I look forward to any advice or solutions from you.
Kind regards.

"how can I get this case escalated to e-Bay because I do not feel and do not see myself protected by buyer protection" = you need to be aware that, in accordance with the site's T&Cs, the eBay customer guarantee is limited to 30 days from the date of receipt.

Then your remedies are limited to the seller (if professional) and the manufacturer. So I invite you to deal directly with one or the other (by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt).
best regards

OP3 years agoHello koalagris,
Thank you very much for your response and your very quick reaction.
The solution you give is very objective. However, I do not have any contact with the manufacturer; it is through the repairer (or seller) if needed.
So in my opinion, the only option is the registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt as **bleep** , hoping that the seller reacts in that way.
But thank you very much for your contribution.
Best regards.
