Intra-Community sales restriction
Summary: maxiage explains that he is a self-employed worker in France with an intra-Community VAT number and annual cross-border turnover of less than 10,000 euros. He is having difficulties with eBay, which is blocking his intra-Community sales and requiring him to register with the OSS one-stop shop, contrary to what the law says, according to him, as long as the threshold has not been exceeded. Although he has contacted customer service several times, he has not received a satisfactory response and is looking for help to resolve this problem.
This is the first time I’ve used the community platform and I’ll admit I don’t really know how it works.
I’m self-employed, under the VAT franchise scheme, for 12 years. I have an intra-community VAT number for France and my annual cross-border sales revenue does not exceed the 10,000 threshold.
The problem is that eBay is blocking all intra-community sales on the grounds that I am not enrolled in the OSS one-stop shop.
The law clearly states that this is not mandatory as long as the threshold is exceeded.
Obviously I have contacted eBay customer service several times, but as usual they reply without addressing the problem.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thank you.
