Hello, following a mistake on my part when reporting an absence, I’m going to send an item I bought one day late (normally, I have to send it before 08/07 and I’m going to send it on 08/07). You risk nothing apart from a defect on your account for late delivery (if the parcel arrives after the deadline indicated in the listing, which is not even certain with only one day of delay), so no big deal if it doesn’t happen again. The main thing is indeed to inform the buyer.
