Delivery return via Mondial Relay
Summary: 18nouchka describes a situation where a buyer did not pick up a package containing a book, despite several notifications. The package was returned to the sender after remaining at the pickup point. 18nouchka wonders whether they should refund the book, but not the shipping costs, to which max2661953 replies that this is the right approach.
Hello, I’m explaining to you what seems to be a new way for a buyer to refuse an item.
This concerns the sale of a book for which I sent several emails to the recipient via eBay messaging:
- I informed the recipient on April 2 that the parcel had been dropped off at the parcel pickup point near my home
- I informed the recipient on April 8 that the parcel had arrived at the pickup point he had requested and that the parcel was waiting for him!
+ I asked him to send me his mobile phone number so that I could quickly let him know about any changes. ...NO RESPONSE
- I informed the recipient again on April 13 that the parcel had been at the pickup point since April 5, 2024 and that the parcel was waiting for him!
+ I asked him again to send me his mobile phone number so that I could quickly let him know about any changes. ...NO RESPONSE
And the parcel was indeed sent back on April 16 to my drop-off pickup point.
What do you do in this case?
Should I consider that I have no obligation to send this parcel back to the recipient again when he did not come to pick it up at the pickup point he had chosen himself.
So I can refund him for the item, but not the shipping. What do you think?
Have a nice day,
Regards,
Nouchka
