Returned for refusal
I was supposed to receive sneakers from the USA to France, but I’ve been told there’s an extra tax charge to pay on the post office website. By the time I made the payment (48 hours), the item had already been returned to the sender.
I want to stop the process so it doesn’t get sent back to the USA, but I can’t get in touch with eBay or anyone else. What should I do?

"I want to block the process so it doesn't get sent back to the US" = that is not up to you, nor the site, nor the seller; it's between customs and the carrier, and since the return action has already been initiated, it's done.
Why did it take 48 hours to pay La Poste so that the package could be delivered?

OP2 years agoMy card had been declined for the payment of the taxes (for no understandable reason, it’s the same card I use for all my purchases) and by the time I found another payment method, the return-to-sender process had already been started for reason of “declined” even though that’s not the case.
Now do I lose the item and will I be refunded? Is there any way for eBay to send me the item again? I don’t want a refund, I really want to receive my sneakers.

Mentor2 years ago"Is there a way for eBay to send the item back to me?" = eBay doesn’t sell anything, so that’s not their responsibility; only your seller can arrange a new shipment (once they’ve recovered the item), so check with them.
"for 'refusal' when that isn’t the case" = not paying the taxes leads to a refusal, and therefore a return to the sender.
"I don’t want a refund, I want to receive my sneakers" = you won’t have a choice between the two, and once again, this has to be sorted out directly with the seller.
