Support FR in Switzerland
Summary: sylkae_87 shares their experience of a sale made on eBay, where although the buyer received the package, tracking does not show it as delivered, delaying the payment. They express their frustration at not being able to get assistance in French by phone, since eBay.ch only offers telephone support in German. koalagris explains that Switzerland is linked to eBay.de and advises waiting for the 14-day period for the funds to be released. sylkae_87 mentions having problems validating the IBAN and trying to contact French-language support via chat, but is unable to do so. koalagris suggests finding someone who speaks German to help during the call.
Hello everyone,
My first sale was completed a few days ago, the buyer has received the package and says he is “very happy”.
Except that the tracking for the parcel doesn’t indicate that it has been delivered, only that it is pending.
I therefore can’t get the sale amount paid out to me.
What’s frustrating is that it’s impossible for me to get support in my language, French.
Ebay.ch is only in German, but you can translate the page so that’s fine.
On the other hand, the phone support speaks ONLY German, even though in our country we have 4 national languages.
I happen to speak “only” French and English. So support refuses to answer me, in fr or in EN. I asked to be contacted by phone and the guy hangs up on me because I don’t speak German.
Have you also run into this issue? If so, what solution did you find?
It’s a dreadful user experience; it’s clear that once this sale is settled I’ll close my account and never use EBAY again
Thanks in advance for the replies 😉

Mentor2 years agoHello @sylkae_87
Unfortunately, there is no solution for Swiss users, as eBay has decided to link this country to ebay.de.
Note that:
* there are very often delays in updating shipping tracking
* new sellers are subject to a funds hold of at least 14 days
See this page:
https://www.ebay.ch/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816&st=3&pos=1&query=Paiements%20bloqu%C3%A9s&intent=paiement%20bloque&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1450
Its counterpart on ebay.fr:
https://www.ebay.fr/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816&st=3&pos=1&query=Paiements%20bloqu%C3%A9s&intent=paiement%20bloque&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1450
So in any case, you will have to wait to receive your funds...
I also hope you have completed your registration as a seller (identity verification + IBAN):
https://www.ebay.ch/help/selling/getting-paid/sinscrire-en-tant-que-vendeur?id=4792&st=3&pos=1&query=S%27inscrire%20en%20tant%20que%20vendeur&intent=s%27inscrire%20en%20tant%20que%20vendeur&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1461
on .fr:
https://www.ebay.fr/help/selling/getting-paid/sinscrire-en-tant-que-vendeur?id=4792&st=3&pos=1&query=S%27inscrire%20en%20tant%20que%20vendeur&intent=s%27inscrire%20en%20tant%20que%20vendeur&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1461

OP2 years agoThank you very much for taking the time to reply, it's appreciated.
However, I'm unable to get my IBAN validated for an unknown reason.
I was able to get in touch via chat with the support of ebay.fr but that did not
help, and I can't find the page that allows such a
contact again.
May I still ask you if you have the link to chat with
the fr support?
In any case, thanks again.
Best regards

OP2 years agothanks for taking the time to reply. that's nice.
I actually have an issue with the iban... I enter it, but it doesn't seem to be accepted by ebay.
I was able to get help via chat on ebay.fr but I can't figure out how to have that option again. The only solution is to request a phone call, but since my number is Swiss it isn't accepted.
Would you know how to get help from ebay.fr via chat?
koalagris
Mentor2 years agoNot possible since you depend on ebay.de
(ebay.fr absolutely can't do anything for you)
Do you know anyone who speaks German and could accompany you during the call?
Have you tried speaking in English? (I don't know if that would work, but it seems like an alternative to me)
sylkae_87
OP2 years agoI think I'm going to have to find someone who speaks German, indeed...
I tried to talk to him in English, but he refuses to reply to me, he keeps looping and says that I didn't respond.
Thanks again for your help.
Wishing you a lovely day 🙂
