remote-controlled lawnmower
Summary: zazard is concerned about the authenticity of cheap remote-controlled mower offers on eBay from sellers with no reliable feedback and wonders about the protection offered by PayPal. *miss-tigri* advises caution, pointing out the possible complications with after-sales service, especially the costs and negotiations needed for a return to China. He recommends buying from a local store to avoid these problems.
Professional sellers on eBay have put tracked remote-controlled lawnmowers up for sale at rather low prices: €200, €198 or €300.
I contacted the seller to find out more about the listed price, but I didn’t get a response. I followed up, to no avail.
These sellers generally don’t have any feedback, and when they do, it’s feedback about other items (according to the buyers’ photos).
If I pay with PayPal, am I protected?
I don’t understand why the prices are so low. Is it a pre-order, like on some other sales sites?
There’s nothing indicated in the seller’s description.
So normally, if the description doesn’t say “pre-order” or anything else, then it really is the item’s price!
For example, a lawnmower listed at €198, it’s strange that eBay France doesn’t block this seller.
I imagine this sale isn’t a scam then?
EHave people already bought large items, like a tractor or a ride-on mower, in China at rather low prices, and actually received the machine ON E BAY . MERCIIIIII

Even if you receive your purchase, what about after-sales support?
You will certainly have to return the product to China, with shipping costs to pay upfront, and a lot of negotiations to get them refunded ..
Personally, I would avoid buying that on eBay ..A local store will be much better .
