Using stamps in francs for postage – new issue
Summary: numismab15 shares their experience with a problem using franc-denominated stamps for postage in France. For the past few months, the postal service has required postage to be arranged in a single line, which makes it difficult to use these stamps, even though they are still valid. numismab15 is looking for legal solutions to keep using these stamps while complying with the postal service's new requirements. The participant is asking for advice or similar experiences from other members.
Using Franc stamps for postage – new problem
Hello everyone
For years I’ve been using my Franc stamps to allow my customers in France to avoid paying shipping costs. So I’m making no profit, for the record (other members charge ... each to their own), but this way I keep some of my French customers loyal. However, for the past few months the post office has changed these rules and requires postage on a single line, which is practically impossible with postage in Francs. Yet Franc stamps are still accepted because their permanent value is guaranteed by the state. Are you having this problem too? How can I find a legal solution and continue using Franc stamps, which the post office is obliged to take back? Thanks!
