Buyer validation of the sale
Summary: supertraack sold an item at auction and is worried about the buyer confirming receipt, because the tracking number hasn’t been updated. They’re wondering how the buyer can confirm receipt of the item on the mobile version of the platform. lingma85 advises preferring shipping methods with proof of delivery in the future, since a tracked letter doesn’t guarantee proof of receipt, and to wait 15 to 3 weeks to see whether the buyer confirms receipt or files a complaint.
Hello,
I sold an item at auction, the buyer received it, however on the postal tracking number, nothing has been updated.
Since this was my first sale, I don't know how the sale is supposed to be validated? I imagine the buyer has to indicate that they have received the item?
Since the tracking number isn't up to date with the Post Office, I deleted it and simply indicated that I sent the item without entering a tracking number (it's just a tracked letter).
My question is, does the buyer have a button to approve that they received it? In that case, where? Because they are telling me there's nothing on their side (they're on the mobile version apparently).
Thanks in advance for your help!

Mentor1 year agoGood evening @supertraack
You sent a tracked letter whose number has no value as proof that an item was actually received...
In your case, all you can do is wait 15 days to 3 weeks to see whether the buyer has indeed received your item... ( time corresponding to the receipt of the funds resulting from the sale )
- if they're honest, everything will go fine...
otherwise, you'll get a complaint saying an item was not received and you'll have to refund it.
I know, it's not very pleasant to read... but it's better to avoid tracked letters, which in reality aren't very useful... and to prefer shipments that prove receipt...
