Hello, I placed an order on eBay for the following item: [References] After making the purchase, I received a strange first message asking me whether I had bought the item. Since then, the seller’s replies have always been delayed by two days, as if he were trying to buy time. The conversation is also strange: the seller asks me to confirm my address, even though it is already listed on eBay. At one point, the seller informed me that he could not send the item because it had allegedly been damaged while being packed. So I will not receive my Geiger counter, but I am worried about the refund. The seller’s messages are becoming increasingly evasive and he said he had notified eBay, but does not want to cancel the transaction for fear of having to pay a commission. He is asking me to delete the transaction. I fear I am being scammed and losing my money. Several clues make me think something is wrong: The item was listed in a category where the eBay guarantee does not work: "Professional equipment". The shipping time stated in the listing is very long (1 month for delivery from Hungary to France, when it should take 4 days). The "USPS" transport service (United States Postal Service) does not exist in Hungary. Communication is very slow, the replies are evasive, and the seller is trying to buy time. I am lost and do not know what to do. If I ask eBay to step in too soon, the delivery deadline will not have passed yet. If I wait too long, it will be too late to take action. I also fear that the seller will end up sending only an empty package to make things more complicated. In addition, the eBay guarantee will not work because of the category chosen by the seller.
