my problem was resolved after contacting customer service by phone and sending an ID document/proof of address
in short, all good now, thanks everyone.

All of this seems to me like a big bug... don't pay any attention to it...
Start by
- putting the listing you just made into drafts...
Then,
- you log out of eBay and clear the browser cache you used by deleting the recent history.......
Finally..
- do what it says in this link------> Register as a seller | eBay
eBay has to recognize you as a seller in order for you to continue posting your listings... and everything should go fine.

thanks for the reply, I have a question when I go to my personal info, there is:
"Please add your Tax identification number" (the last line at the very bottom) with a red exclamation mark do I need to fill that in to be able to sell now?
