Lost sales without bidding wars in the timing
Summary: renaio2012 expresses frustration about the sale of a painting for which he thought he had won the auction, but was then informed of a higher bid after the allotted time had passed. francexpressdeal and lingma85 suggest that these are automatic bids and recommend contacting customer service for more details. renaio2012 continues to doubt the process because of the lack of notification on time, while another comment advises contacting the Community Manager via Facebook for clarification.

OP9 months agothank you for your reply..
The bidding history shows this: the sale ended at 9:24 PM
I bid at 9:18:01 PM
until the end of the countdown, i.e. 9:24 PM, there were no higher bids and no famous "you won it" message.
Then the history shows that there were 5 bids that I couldn't take part in since the countdown had stopped and they didn't appear...anyway

Mentor9 months agoGood evening @renaio2012
when you give explanations, they need to be complete.... and the images uncropped...
In this specific case, it’s automatic bidding, which means the most generous bidder won the auction even though you hadn’t moved since 21:18:01...
You can see that in the image below...
Don’t hesitate to place a higher bid up to the amount you’re willing to pay for the item, so you won’t regret anything..

OP9 months agoDear Sir,
I wasn't able to take a screenshot, as the site told me it wasn't possible.. so I made a copy and paste... I didn't leave anything out... the only point of the copy and paste was to show that bids had been placed beyond the 21:24:00 time limit and that I was never notified in time so that I could outbid them.
The fact that I outbid 6 minutes before, 6 days or 6 months before is not the problem..
Of course I made an offer at 21:18:01.....and I didn't move again because for 6 minutes and right up until the end of the auction there were no other bids...I wasn't going to outbid my own bid...you can also see, as in the copy and paste I attached previously, that the end of the auction was precisely at 21:24:00 ..that at that moment the countdown ended (in any case it stopped for me at that point)...and it was only afterwards that I learned there had been a higher bid..besides, the history shows a higher bid at 21:24:49 even though I could no longer bid for 49 seconds, the sale having been notified to me as ended at 21:24:00.
I simply find it regrettable that even when there is a higher bid with a max price submitted by X or Y, one can't outbid within the time limit (the higher bid from X or Y having been taken into account after the countdown ended)..or at least that the site doesn't show that you're below so you can outbid.
Anyway...that's how it is, it doesn't keep me from sleeping..but it doesn't lessen my feeling that something isn't working properly..
