ID card requested by eBay

Hello everyone,

Is Ebay asking you for an ID card on your profile? Because I changed my address after moving, and ever since I changed my address, ebay has been asking me for an ID card.

Given that the ID card (which is not mandatory in France) is one of the documents proving your identity... and that this proof is requested when you sign up as a seller...

it’s hardly surprising that it was asked of you when you changed your address...
Since when you move house, you have to update your personal ID documents, maybe it’s so you can prove that you haven’t “sold” or traded your eBay account, which is forbidden.

In fact, this also shows a tightening of certain checks that are carried out with the help of AI..

Just in case, still contact Customer Service to get confirmation of this request. Not everyone has an ID card... (a passport is also an identity document )..

But the documents are not necessarily at the same address since they were issued several years ago and are valid for several years.
