NO MORE ONLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE, shame on eBay
Summary: chinart77 expresses frustration at the disappearance of human customer service online, which is crucial for avoiding scams when selling precious metals. Several participants, including valhelen72 and jpgformule1, share this disappointment, highlighting the lack of phone support despite the high fees on eBay. purple-teddy-bear mentions that the agents claim to be human, but response times are long. superbroc describes a frustrating 30-minute experience with no resolution, while enmodeglam questions unequal access to phone services depending on the type of account. The consensus is that the lack of direct contact is inefficient and concerning.
It’s all in the title, I’m not part of the web generation and I’m disgusted that there are no longer any online services with advice from a super competent and reassuring human. All that just to save a few euros or dollars here and there. If I’m too slow to express myself, a timeout cuts the chat off right in the middle and it annoys me because I need a service that listens to me.
What became of our super advisors located in Morocco? Nobody thinks about them or about me. When you sell precious metals like I do, you’re the target of scam attempts and I need to have a human listening to me while I browse Ebay in real time to find a solution. Kind regards.

·2 weeks ago · EditedHello .
When you run into a complex problem, being able to talk directly with an advisor would still be much more effective than a chat that sometimes ends before the problem is even really understood. In short, when you pay a store, the least they can do is provide customer service when you have a problem, and not through a chat that drags on forever only to end up with nothing at all

·2 weeks agoIt's shameful! I just spent almost 30 minutes trying to fix a notification problem with offers (which I haven't seen on eBay messaging for a few days now...).
after 30 minutes, nothing!! They even sent me a link to help on the English site.
Given what I pay in fees and in-store costs every year (for a turnover that's getting harder and harder to achieve...) it's really disappointing! Even on our listings we're forced to put a phone number so customers can reach us, but eBay doesn't think that rule is good for them too!!

·1 month agoHello,
I’m 100% with you, I recently saw that there are no more human interactions by phone, it’s more frustrating to explain your case by chat... after that it’ll be AI .( unemployed people behind it )
I’ve been buying and selling on Ebay for 23 years; unfortunately, this platform is a reflection of the world today: profit, scams, etc... Ebay 1 star!! I also expressed my dissatisfaction!!

·1 month agoI completely agree with you, it’s outrageous. I think that by paying for a shop, fees on sales, we should be able to benefit from a phone support service. It’s the least they could do. That was the only advantage I found with eBay compared to its competitors, so there’s not much reason left to use this platform

The site is modernizing... keeping up with the latest trends...
it's the age of AI...
We'll have to get used to it, otherwise... we'll get lost...
Best regards

·1 month agoThe agents confirm to me that they are human, but I contacted them twice by chat and for something that used to take 1-2 minutes, now they ask for an exchange of more than 15 minutes just for me to be told that a specialist will get back to me... no more listening, no more vendor support service... what's going on?
