Customs duty and VAT

Hello, I ordered an item on eBay from Japan to France for an amount of €823.67, including €137.28 of import VAT. The problem is that now the delivery company DHL is asking me again to pay customs fees because the seller apparently did not send or inform DHL that these fees had already been paid. What should I do? DHL is asking me for €203 today and my package is supposed to arrive Thursday

To retrieve your parcel, you need to pay the carrier and then get reimbursed by eBay... be sure to keep the receipt for your payment.
