Pre-ordered item never received
Summary: gamerdenice06 shares their frustrating experience with a Pokémon item pre-order on eBay that was never delivered. eBay refused to step in, stating that the claim had to be made within 30 days of the expected delivery date. francexpressdeal advises checking eBay’s presale policy, notes that the seller didn’t ship within the required timeframe, and suggests solutions such as contacting PayPal or requesting a chargeback through the bank if the payment was made by credit card.
Hello,
I’m looking for some advice because I’ve found myself in a pretty frustrating situation with an eBay preorder.
I ordered on August 2, 2026
[PREORDER] Pokémon ETB Celebration 30 Years + 6 celebration boxes
The product was supposed to come out in mid-September. The seller told me he was going to ship the parcel, but in the end I didn’t receive anything. And now he no longer отвечает to my messages.
So I contacted eBay to ask for a refund, and they told me the claim period is over because undelivered items are covered for 30 days from the estimated delivery date.
That’s where I’m not really getting it anymore: since it was a preorder, the product wasn’t even available when I bought it. I find it pretty surprising that you can buy a preorder on eBay but no longer be covered when the product is supposed to release.
Has anyone ever had this happen with an eBay preorder that ended up never being delivered?
Did eBay agree to do anything despite the 30-day window?
Or did you find another solution (bank, credit card, etc.)?
Thanks for your feedback, I’m open to any similar experience.

·1 week agoHello @gamerdenice06
check this help page:
Pre-sale policy | eBay
The problem is that your seller didn't comply with this point: "Pre-sale listings must guarantee shipment of the item within 40 business days following purchase."
So eBay will not intervene.
After that, depending on your payment method, you still have possible recourse:
Paypal: they offer protection valid for 180 days after the payment date.
Credit card: contact your bank and ask for a chargeback procedure

I managed to get a refund through eBay customer service. The seller's account is on the way down thanks to the multiple complaints.
