unknown tool
Hello everyone
I just found this strange tool and I don’t know where it comes from or what it’s used for. Can anyone tell me? For what it’s worth, the branches are marked in relief with the number 45.
Thanks in advance
Bernard

OP2 years agoHello,
I earned my vocational certificate as a fitter, turner, miller in 1967. I can assure you that this tool is not a fitter's compass. Thanks anyway for taking an interest in my object.

·2 years agoIndeed, this is not a compass, but a spacing gauge ,a well-known tool among fitters and mechanics,, if you’re relying on the community’s opinion to put it up for sale, you’ll need to be more precise ,send us photos as explicit as those on your sales site ,for example your hot water bottle is nothing but a crude bodge job with welding overflowing everywhere

With a photo... that would be better...
( to host it on a free host, then put the URL here... if the forum's built-in tool doesn't let you do it directly...)
