Summary: passion-brocante shares a negative experience on eBay after a buyer used two different accounts to buy several items and asked for combined shipping. After shipping the items, passion-brocante noticed that a tracking number was missing for one of the items, allowing the buyer to dispute receipt. Despite efforts to resolve the issue with eBay, the buyer was refunded. Other participants explain that using multiple accounts is legal and suggest a different approach to avoid situations like this.
hello
a buyer from the United Kingdom bought 3 items from me and asked for combined shipping. so I packed the 3 items and refunded the extra postage
I went to post the parcel and when I got back I wanted to add the tracking number, I could only put it for 2 items, and that was when I noticed that this buyer had bought my items with 2 different usernames but with the same name and same address (is that legal ???) .........
the result of my kindness: this eBayer, who is more than dishonest, filed a dispute for item not received (of course the one that didn’t have tracking) even though the other 2 were delivered just fine ..no more contact with him
and in the end eBay ruled in his favor and refunded him the amount of the item + shipping .....
I reported this problem to ebay.uk with no response ....I find this unacceptable
I’m a pro, I pay for a shop and eBay protects dishonest buyers at the expense of these sellers
I’m disgusted ......

is it legal? yes, you can open several eBay accounts
result of my kindness ; not really, grouping together is normal commercially but if you’re anxious you make a listing with the three items, he clicks, you send

OP4 months agoI'm not anxious, I wrapped up the items, I went to post the parcel, and when I got home I noticed that I couldn't enter the tracking number on one of the items. That's when I noticed that he had bought with 2 accounts. As a result, he opened a dispute, which eBay ruled in his favor for non-delivery of the 3rd item, even though the 3 items were in the same parcel

You wrote-----> " I noticed that this buyer had bought my items with 2 different usernames but with the same name and same address (is this legal ???)"
Having several usernames is perfectly allowed by the site...
However, you made a mistake that you're paying for....
- you bundled the purchases from 2 different usernames into a single package.... (the fact that the name and address are identical is actually none of your concern... )
By doing that, you gave one of the usernames the possibility to open a dispute for item not received... which is reflected by the lack of a tracking number for one of the items...
People are sneaky and you shouldn't try to be overly kind in online commerce... and this buyer must be a repeat offender to know the trick...
Best regards

on the other hand with your action your buyer paid 3 shipping fees
