account and phone lock
Summary: leosleos expresses frustration about his eBay account being blocked, which prevents access to his funds. He mentions the inability to contact customer service effectively because of phone communication issues and a lack of online support. Several participants suggest contacting the DGCCRF or addressing the issue directly with customer service via the international site. The complications related to transferring an account between countries are also discussed, leading to conclusions about the inadequacy of the solutions proposed by some agents and the difficulties of language comprehension.
Account blocked after decades of use for dubious reasons.
Blocking (or theft?) of my money owed by eBay for my sales of items.
Impossible to contact 'customer' service.
-no way to leave a message
-The call from eBay is made on +33 but living outside the country the international code is different.
-When I call +33 01 70 37 95 88 the robot asks for a special code that must be obtained by clicking the Help tab on ebay.fr, when Help is clicked no code is provided, same when looking for help for a specific problem.
eBay does everything to be unreachable and not pay the sale of my personal items made months ago (no problem on my side or on the buyers' side)
Account and user profile perfect from the start but eBay blocks everything and blocks any resolution of the debts owed to me.

registered in Ireland, you are not at all under the customer service of ebay.FR (nor its forum).
ebay customer service does not have a phone number because they are the ones who contact you back directly.

OP9 months agoThe Indian eBay customer service agent was not able or willing to make a transfer of the eBay France account to eBay Ireland when I made the request.
Even though I have not used eBay France's services for years, eBay still requires me to do operations related to the account on ebay.fr, where everything seems designed so that you can't contact or be contacted by customer service

"The Indian agent"
Here’s a very useful clarification...
"everything seems designed so you can’t contact or be contacted by customer service"
You took the first phone number found online, which has absolutely nothing to do with anything, so don’t be surprised by the result...
The only contact for your account:
eBay Customer Service

OP9 months agoOften very difficult to understand and be understood. Personal and general experience. Those who live or have lived in English-speaking countries know that often customer service phone numbers are redirected or rerouted in the case of high volumes to call centers in India, where the agents may have very limited knowledge (sometimes they subcontract for several companies at once) of the language, or a very hard-to-understand accent.
Contrary to your presumption, no, I did not take the first phone number I found. Moreover, I will do without your effrontery.
As for the only contact for the account, no, the whole problem is there: there does not seem to be a single contact in my situation or a single customer service that can resolve the multiple problems that have piled up since the block.

The Indian eBay customer service agent was not able or willing to transfer the eBay France account to eBay Ireland when I made the request.
why not open an account in Ireland, with an address and phone number in this new country
leosleos
OP9 months agoBecause when an eBay member uses the platform from another eBay site, it is not necessary to create an account. It is necessary to update the contact details.
That has been my experience; maybe that has changed since then, but that was never a problem up to now.
In addition, my account was in perfect standing, so starting over from scratch, if I had thought of it, would have annoyed me.

of course you would have started again from 0, but do you really think you are much more representative with 79 ratings
with your French account and an address in Ireland, you are in contradiction with eBay's regulations for the country where you live
