FAKE "stamps" beware of printed "stickers"
Summary: The discussion centers on the problems encountered by buyers of postage stamps on platforms like eBay, where it seems that some sellers offer counterfeit stamps at prices significantly below their face value. aurea-france shares their disastrous experience of having bought stamps that turned out to have already been used, highlighting the perceived ineffectiveness of eBay's customer service in resolving the issue. Several participants discuss the responsibility of platforms in monitoring the sale of such products, while some recommend buying only through official channels to avoid fraud. The discussion includes remarks on the temptation to buy cheaper products and the risks associated with such apparent savings.
I invite users of "stamps" not to buy these labels, even if the prices are extraordinarily low, I’m convinced more than half are fake, they’re easy to reproduce with a printer, office software, and you can print as many sheets as you want !!!! at the very least buy perforated stamps, they’re less easy to reproduce, , be careful!
a printed stamp costs €1.26 ! !!!! you can find them at €0.30, that’s impossible !!!!

·2 years agoHello,
Some people really do make life complicated for themselves. 🤔
Buy your stamps at La Poste, and you won’t get taken in.
Since La Poste is the official stamp supplier, there’s little chance of ending up with fake stamps.
Well...

·2 years agoGood evening everyone
@red71-2011
La Poste being the official stamp provider
Precisely, when one knows how the “online stamp” works,
common sense says that one should refrain from buying this type of product outside the official channel, but it has to be said that greed takes over from reason.

·2 years agoEbay should maybe also select its sellers a bit better and ban this type of sale since it’s a scam.

·2 years agoGood evening @aurea-france
As said earlier... (message 37)... if I wrote---> "As long as there are buyers for this kind of products and other low-priced ones.... there will be production.. it’s just a question of money (big and small...)"
I also omitted to mention this ------->
- the fact of owning (therefore having bought) and/or making forgeries is punishable under Criminal law... with all the joys that go with it....----> Making, altering, using and possessing forged documents. - Légavox (legavox.fr)
especially since "ignorance of the law is no excuse."...
So all users of stamps not bought from the Post Office, authorized retailers and/or on the Post Office website... are still taking a big risk..
- so what about the small savings described here, in that case...in light of the penalties that could be applied... ???
Kind regards

·2 years agoEbay should simply ban this type of sale, because they are also responsible since they spread all these scams on their site and collect commissions on these sales.

·2 years agoApparently, you're not capable of resisting temptation...
It's not very adult or responsible either....
It could end up 1-1 and back to square one between the users at fault (sellers and buyers) and the site hosting them... (with less concern for the site than for the greedy users...)
😇

·2 years agoHello, I was also a victim of this "seller"!!!! I bought this kind of sheets from 2 different sellers. The first one told me he had several Ebay accounts and on other sites. I think the 2 sellers were actually one and the same seller, even though I asked him by message and he told me no, that he didn't know the other seller. Apparently the seller had bought these sheets in large quantities when he was selling a lot on Eay, and now that he's not selling much anymore he is reselling his stock of printable stamps, which he says is substantial.
So I end up with several of these sheets that are unusable. I tried mailing something to myself, to my own address to see if the letters would come back to me, and for the past 10 days, no letter has come back.
I went to the post office to ask for their opinion, but they told me they had no way to check the validity of these stamps, that only the machine could scan them and reject them.
Like you, the seller offered me off-Ebay sales, via Paypal directly, by exchanging SMS messages.
I reported these 2 sellers to Ebay. I'm thinking about filing a complaint, because if everyone files a complaint, maybe this seller or these sellers could be investigated by the justice system. It's unacceptable to be able to scam people like this without being investigated, to sell freely on a large scale, and for the buyers to be the ones who could be in trouble if they get caught affixing their mail with these fraudulent stamps, is absolutely unbearable!!!

As for fake stamps.... there has indeed been a resurgence of this problem... everyone is talking about it and sounding the alarm....--->Alert over fake stamps! (lemonde.fr)
(this is nothing new.. it may be a subject that is occupying people's minds and hiding other subjects that are so much more important...)
But I don't think the number of forum visitors will be able to change anything...
As long as there are buyers for this kind of products and other low-priced ones.... there will be production.. it's only a matter of money (big and small...)
Best regards

·2 years agoHello.
And yes, it’s impossible....well,no,because there are people who still get caught by the old unbeatable-price trick, that you have to take advantage of it and all....
The more we “modernize,” the more I think of my grandma, it’s not to her that we would have passed off watered-down milk or diluted wine, superior and cheaper than at the market...I can hear her now: "Well then! That’s expensive for a liter of water! "
aurea-france
·2 years agoI bought some postage stamps printed on the Post Office website at a low price from a local e-commerce seller who had stopped trading and wanted to get rid of them, zero problem and the guy took down his ad on the **bleep** as soon as I bought them, whereas here the stock seems inexhaustible. Ebay should do like **bleep**, pay a little more attention to sellers, oh darn there'd be fewer transactions. 😂

·2 years agoBought from some guy in the "area"? Who wanted to get rid of them (that, we get!!!) ?Who took down his ad as soon as the sale was over (that makes sense too!!!) and changed platforms (still makes sense!!!) to make one or two more "deals" ??? And you come here to complain about what happened to you somewhere else in another "area" ?By recommending that others do the same? Well then....
You know what my grandma would have said ?? "Don’t go there, girl. At that bargain price, it’s a sucker’s trap that’s going to make the rounds of the department and then vanish...We’re going where things have their price..."
That’s why, me, I buy my postage stamps at the post office...
Best regards.

·2 years agoNo, he stopped his activity and had put the stamps I hadn’t taken from him and that he had handed over to me in person up for sale on leboncoicoin, let’s hope eBay refunds me, do you know if they protect buyers or rather scammers?
nareio
·2 years agoGood evening.
"had left the stamps I hadn't bought from him and that he had handed over to me in person for sale on blip..."??? What do you mean?? That's contradictory.
aurea-france
·2 years agoE-commerce seller in Strasbourg, I live in Strasbourg, ad posted on boncoincoincoin, I reply, he hands me the 50g stamps I want in person and I leave him the other 250g ones, very interesting price, ad deleted right away on boncoincoincoin and the remaining stamps that I didn't buy (250g) put back online with number of sheets. Test at the Post Office counter, ok not used.
So is eBay protection up to amazonazonzon standards?

in all this story there's something strange, you buy stamps cheaper than the stamp price at the post office, it's a bit like buying banknotes for less than the value printed on them
so in all this, who is being deceived?
and even for a few cents saved on each shipment, petty, isn't it

·2 years agoSo what? What does e-bay have to do with this??
As far as I'm concerned, this discussion is over.

·2 years agoAh if only I had come across your post before my purchase from that thief who has already reopened a seller account on eBay! It's really easy here to make money by scamming buyers.

Being convinced is not enough.

·2 years agoPersonally, I went to a Post Office pro counter so they could test a few sheets that I even received twice (700 euros' worth of order, still), and bingo, stamps already used. I sent a return to the seller, no news, and his account was closed by eBay following my report. I’ve never bought here, always preferring **bleep** and I’ll see what eBay decides, but I’m really afraid that here they’re really taking buyers for fools and that scammers are very comfortably settled there, unlike on **bleep**, which is much stricter with sellers (hold on the balance in case of seller scam and customer refunds to process).
In short, if there’s no refund, never again on eBay, what a disgrace this marketplace is, no wonder **bleep** is now number one!
nareio
·2 years agoHello.
700 euros...Good grief...That's a lot of stamps, not even collectible ones....What exactly were you planning to do with them??
Best regards.

·2 years agoI’m going to take them to the gendarmerie and file a complaint because this seller has been running his little side business like this since the beginning of January. Or else eBay will step up like Amazon and refund me, which would be the normal thing, but I’m not getting my hopes up, this doesn’t seem very professional here.
aurea-france
·2 years agoAnd the funniest thing is that this professional seller had a hard time giving me a proper invoice (SIRET number missing, no indication of AE status and VAT exemption) and kept texting me to keep doing transactions outside eBay and paying by bank transfer, seriously there are some seriously messed-up people here.

OP2 years agoYou want proof, take your board, go to the post office, ask to scan the stamps, the answer will be they've already been used, and even in some cases the tracking still shows the tracing of the original mail! !!!
