I just received an email from EBAY, which I’m going to summarize based on what I understood, and it says that from now on my earnings on EBAY will be kept on the site until I request to have them sent to my bank account, or use them to buy things on the site.
After a few clicks on links in the message, they end up asking me to possibly update my bank account details...
Since I’m not young anymore, and caution is the order of the day, I wanted to ask whether others have received this email, even though that still wouldn’t be a guarantee for me that there’s no risk...
I’m adding the content of the GMAIL message...
"Important information: how to use your funds from September 1
We would like to inform you that as of September 1, 2026, the way your funds payouts are handled on eBay will change to give you more flexibility in how you use your funds.
What’s changing:
Your eBay Balance: starting September 1, earnings from your sales will be kept in your eBay Balance. You can use this balance directly to make purchases on eBay, buy shipping labels or promote your listings
You stay in control: your earnings will remain available in your eBay Balance until you decide to use them or transfer them to your bank account, at any time.
As of September 1, scheduled payouts will no longer be offered. Instead, you’ll be able to transfer your available funds to your bank account at any time.
If no earnings from new sales are credited to your balance for 365 consecutive days, the remaining funds will be automatically transferred to your bank account.

as already said by @lingma85 , this email is legitimate.
More generally, when you receive an email from ebay in your gmail inbox, to be sure it really comes from the site, log in to your eBay account and check that it is also in your eBay mailbox.
If that’s not the case, there is a strong chance that it’s a scam attempt.

Precisely, that’s why it “raised my suspicions,” as we say where I’m from in a figurative way; I don’t have any emails like that in my inbox. Because that’s what I did right away: log in to see if there was any info on the site.

There's nothing suspicious...
The link you provide explains that the transfer of funds to your bank account will not be automatic, but at your request.. which will allow you to have a sort of wallet to buy, for example... if you leave the money on your eBay account...
If you have done what’s needed so that your seller account + your bank details are up to date... there’s nothing else to do.
Request your funds if you sell...
