purchase cancellation
Summary: juce-7255 orders a radiator on eBay and realizes the next day that the dimensions are incorrect. They send a cancellation request to the seller but receive an email saying the item has already been shipped, leaving juce-7255 dissatisfied with customer service. Other participants suggest waiting for delivery to handle a return, noting that eBay can’t stop a shipment that’s already in progress. juce-7255 decides to refuse the package on DHL’s advice, but another participant warns that this could make the refund more complicated. The discussion highlights frustrations with eBay’s return policy and comparisons with other platforms.
Hello,
On Saturday, June 1 in the afternoon, I order a heater for my 1987 van. I pay by Paypal.
On Sunday morning, while checking the order, I realize that one of the dimensions is not right. I send a cancellation request on the E-bay site, which forwards it to the seller [username] (Germany).
At 10:33 a.m. I receive an automatic reply email from this seller, telling me that they will review my request.
And today Monday around 5 p.m., another email, the subject has been "sent". Obviously, impossible to contact e-bay.
There you go.
What else can I do.
Thanks.
Regards

on eBay it’s not a good idea to refuse a package, don’t listen to the delivery drivers, you have to follow the site’s procedure, namely receive the package and then open a dispute
then you don’t have the item anymore and not your money either

On the weekend, nobody works in warehouses/industries, even in Germany.
In Switzerland, you can pick up your packages on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and drop off mail all day Saturday.
In France... that's not the point ^^
And today, Monday around 5 p.m., new email, the item has been sent "
Hello,
You were not responsive enough; it's as soon as shops/offices/garages open in Germany that you need to react, not wait until the new day of the following week is over to worry about your complaint. Since everything is done online, you need to take action that matches the seriousness of your problem, not just wait.
You probably bought from a professional, so there is a phone number to reach them during the week, in your case Monday morning, or an email address to contact them directly.
You don't speak German; you have translation tools that work very well to deal with this problem.
Nowadays, there's not much on the internet that can't be overcome.
Kisses 😊

·2 years agoHello @juce-7255
"impossible to contact e-bay." = pointless, they won't be able to do anything about it.
All that's left is to wait for delivery and then make a return request.
It's before buying that you have to check everything...
Best regards

OP2 years agoThe fact that they didn't take my cancellation request into account says a lot about the business attention they give their customers.
I should have checked everything beforehand, that’s for sure. That’s why I reacted as quickly as possible, to avoid unnecessary packaging, shipping, and fees.

Unlike the giant A......Z.....N, who is very picky about the satisfaction of its customers.

·2 years agoThat makes sense since the site you mention handles all its own shipments, which isn't the case with eBay: it's impossible for eBay to stop a seller from shipping (or force them to do so), or to intervene with a carrier to halt the delivery, since the seller is the one placing the order, not eBay.
