Package marked as delivered but not received (I’m the buyer)
Summary: schne-j ordered an item on eBay, but although the package is marked as delivered, nothing was received. After contacting Colissimo, an investigation was opened with no current result, and the seller remains silent. koalagris suggested filing a claim again, but it is unlikely that the dispute on eBay will be resolved in schne-j's favor because of the "delivered" status. Other participants shared similar experiences, expressing their frustration with cases where packages were marked as delivered when they had not actually been delivered. Some recommend using other services like Mondial Relay to avoid these problems.
Hello,
I ordered an item from an eBay seller. The parcel is marked as delivered, but there was nothing in the mailbox. I immediately contacted Colissimo and asked them to open an investigation. The sorting center manager called me back and told me the delivery person would come by to check whether he had made a mailbox error. I haven't heard anything since.
I opened a dispute, but the seller is no longer replying to me. It was sent by Colissimo without tracking. How can I prove that I acted in good faith?
Thank you in advance.

·1 year agoHello - In the future, don't trust La Poste.
La Poste regularly delivers my mail to another street with the same number, but the street name is different as is the recipient's name.
I also received a package that wasn't meant for me, and another neighbor received one of my packages.
Prefer Mondial relay for example, much fewer problems.

it’s not because the post office and the mail carrier your area depends on are bad that the whole postal service is rotten
I’ve had problems with MR and yet it’s improved a lot

Hello - in any case La Poste is not getting any better and keeps raising its prices at the start of every year. Don’t even get me started on the nightmare of buying a label on the website. It’s hard to get to the end, there’s always some missing information but it doesn’t say what’s wrong. You have to guess. The last time, when I finally got to the end after many tries and paid with Paypal, I breathed a sigh of relief... but no chance.. I received a message asking me to start over for one reason or another. Every time it’s enough to make you tear your hair out. Long live Mondial Relay.

of course I can't be familiar with this kind of problem, I have all the postal service forms and fill them out by hand
another way to keep my village post office going
the postal decision-makers looked for profitability and so closed many post offices, either outright or by turning them into post points
if we want a public service to work, it has to be supported

OP1 year agoAs expected, after the dispute was opened, I didn't get the decision in my favor. I still appealed, attaching a copy of the police report to emphasize my good faith, but it was no use. Still pretty disappointed.

·1 year agoHello, I'm in the same situation as you!!! I went through PayPal, but since it says the package was delivered, PayPal closed the dispute without a refund, and I'm waiting for eBay's decision!!!

well then don’t expect anything, the answer will be the same, especially since PayPal ruled against you

·7 months agoThe same thing is happening to me.
Ebay closed my dispute and the contestation of the dispute without really giving me the why and how...
Did you do anything else in your case to win?
schne-j
OP1 year agoBut, if La Poste's decision is in my favor, then that means the package was not put in the mailbox as indicated. In that case, I should be able to ask that the dispute be decided in my favor with eBay, right? I imagine, of course, that that's not the case.

·1 year agoDon’t get lost in assumptions: wait for the investigation result....
It would have been wiser to wait before opening a dispute, by the way: you had 30 days from the delivery deadline to do it, because with a “delivered” status like this you’re going to be dismissed on eBay (and just a reminder, only one dispute is possible per item).
Put yourself in the seller’s shoes: would you refund an item that the carrier says was delivered?

on eBay it’s not a human handling disputes but an AI-managed bot
which means that with the delivered status, it’ll be dead in the water
as for the post office going after one of “their own” you’re not seriously thinking that!!!!!

OP1 year agoThanks, I just filled out an online form. Do I have any chance of being compensated if the package never turns up again?
koalagris
·1 year agoNot through the site if the carrier doesn't get back to the parcel tracking.

·1 year ago@schne-j if the post office’s decision is in your favor 23 euros per kilo
if not favorable, nothing at all

·1 year agoHello @schne-j
"It was a Colissimo shipment without tracking" = A Colissimo shipment is necessarily a tracked shipment.
You won't succeed in a dispute claim since the carrier confirms delivery.
So you need to take it up with La Poste: file a complaint online if needed (it's always better to put things in writing) and request an investigation again (it can take 1 month).
