·2 years agoHello,
I read this discussion with interest. I understood that Ebay accepted Paypal payments from buyers but refused payouts to sellers on Paypal.
As for me, I find that perfectly hypocritical. Either you agree to work with Paypal, or you refuse. If someone knows the logic behind this way of doing things, I would be happy to know it.
Have a good day, everyone.

Ebay does this for all payment methods offered to buyers, the aim being for everything to go through them with a single and only way for the seller to recover their funds (bank transfer).

You write-----> For my part, I find that perfectly hypocritical. Either you accept working with Paypal, or you refuse."
Maybe that’s your way of translating what you read.... however, that’s not quite accurate...
Ebay has changed the way sellers are paid by routing buyers’ payments through a single "window" that processes CB, paypal, and other payment methods.... The site found it simpler to modify the system this way in order to collect its commission + fees as soon as the transaction is settled, rather than waiting for a monthly invoice (which is not always paid and can lead to disputes )...
Then, the seller is credited with the remaining balance by bank transfer...
This means you can still use paypal as a buyer, but you will pay what you owe to ebay and not directly to the seller... This also changes a bit the guarantees given by paypal to its users...

" What is the use or point of having a Paypal account on Ebay " you write....
If you have a paypal account... it is not strictly reserved for or usable on eBay... it can be used for any purchase on the net... (and that can sometimes be very useful... !) like any credit card...
That said... it is a payment method like any other and it is one of those accepted by the site...
As for guarantees... it is obvious that if you pay with paypal and you have an issue on eBay... you must first settle the eBay dispute before looking any further ( i.e. --> appeal to the payment method as you would with a credit card...) . But you have to understand that users are a bit "messy" and don't think about doing things in order... which creates tangled messes...
Whatever payment method is allowed and used... you also have to know its possibilities and limits before acting.. that avoids a lot of trouble...

OP2 years agoje rajoute en cas de litige qui tranche EBAY ou comme avant l'acheteur peut vous bloquer les fonds via PAYPAL.
en cas des deux pour les vendeurs ce serait une vraie catastrophe

@b05999
Paypal remains a payment method for purchases on Ebay, just like payments by bank card and G pay.
And yes, it is possible for a buyer to file a dispute on Paypal for a purchase on Ebay, just as it is possible to open a chargeback with credit cards for a purchase.

@b05999
Normally, yes, whether it's Paypal or a credit card, a buyer can reopen a dispute with their payment provider.
Proof of shipment will be requested from you.
But if the dispute is considered "fraudulent, abusive"
by the payment provider, the claimant may be subject to sanctions from them.
For more information, I invite you to ask "the Paypal forum" or Paypal, but also to contact your bank and explain your request to them.

At no point did I mention a block on funds by Paypal for a transaction on Ebay .
Paypal (or cb) asks Ebay to recover the funds.
it's Ebay that decides whether the request is eligible or not.
read the link, you'll find the necessary information

·2 years agoHello.
It's simple: you give the payment order to Paypal (or something similar accepted by the site), which pays the amount to e-bay (or a similar site that accepts payments this way), which then transfers it to the seller once the prescribed deadlines have passed. These deadlines depend on how long the buyer takes to pay, how long they have to possibly open a dispute, and for that dispute to be resolved, how long the seller takes to deliver, and their status in relation to the site. But Paypal (or something similar authorized by e-bay) has nothing to do with these deadlines: its role ends when it has transferred the funds to e-bay, and can, possibly, only be reversed after you have finished everything on e-bay's side. In that case, the appeal period is longer, but beware: never file with both at the same time, or you'd block everything.
Regards.

"how do you want it to block your funds via Paypal? I don't get it"
If you pay by paypal on eBay.... you don't pay into the seller's paypal account.... but into the eBay payment center, which receives ALL payments whether they are made by card, bank transfer, paypal or otherwise...
Kind regards
