This happens frequently during the holidays.
If you send via Mondial Relay, your label once created is valid for 30 days, which should allow your buyer to come back from vacation!
You can create it quickly so that you鈥檙e in good standing with Ebay and only drop off the parcel at the relay point much later.
Note that a Colissimo label is only valid for 7 days...

The problem is not with the "sent" status, but very much with the "delivered" status = if the parcel is delivered after the deadline indicated in the listing at the time of purchase, it's the seller who gets a penalty on their account for late delivery (even if it's at the buyer's request).

That's why a request for delayed shipping isn't an option...

Even if it risks causing a possible delivery delay, you can always mark the item as "sent" and add the tracking number when it is actually shipped.

- but for a 1-month delay... it's really not a "good idea"...

Let your buyer know what you're doing by explaining that this isn't possible...
Promise them that you'll keep the book, put it back up for sale at the end of August, and that you'll send them the listing URL for a possible purchase..
