I recently made a purchase on eBay, and the seller contacted me directly on my landline number (even though I only gave my mobile number on eBay) to tell me that he couldn’t ship my purchase because eBay won’t validate my shipping address and is asking to cancel the purchase. And that he would no longer be covered by eBay. He suggested I cancel the purchase, then try again later. Yet I’ve made many purchases with this same address over time, and no seller has ever had a problem sending me my order. I should mention that he also contacted me via eBay messaging. Besides, he’s a well-rated seller, but with around forty sales. I confirm by message that it is indeed my address, and then he tells me that since I confirmed my address, he’s ready to ship the parcel to me. But then, the days went by and he shipped nothing. So, a day or two ago, I decided to cancel the sale in an attempt to do what he had suggested at the beginning. Right after that, I ask him for a few more photos of the item (since he offered them in his listing). No response. So I place the order again to see what happens. I send him a message saying that I’m making another attempt to sort out this supposed address bug. This time I receive a reply to my message (a bit late) where the seller tells me that he apparently hurt his back over the weekend). He says that eBay still won’t validate my address, but that he’s going to ship the parcel anyway. (Well, it’s his wife who is going to ship it tomorrow, since he hurt his back.) Anyway, this story seems strange, and I’m once again expecting nothing to be shipped to me.

If I understood correctly...
a seller supposedly can’t sell to you because of an unknown address... even though that address has already been used on the site...
Despite confirming the address, the seller doesn’t ship anything..
Have you paid...?
You place the order again... but the seller is injured...
etc...
It wasn’t a cancellation request that should have been made,
but this-------->

All that’s left is to wait until the delivery date has passed for the 2nd purchase, so you can act accordingly.

This very complicated story doesn’t smell very good..
Nothing’s stopping you from sending a SOS to Customer Service.
