Shipping cost calculation
Summary: fredolique1 expresses frustration about the complexity of calculating shipping fees on eBay and suggests that the platform automatically generate shipping labels, as its competitors do, to improve the process. frelonverre responds by voicing reservations about this automation, fearing a loss of control for sellers. lingma85 mentions the existence of solutions like Packlink but criticizes relying on third-party platforms, advising that some autonomy be maintained to avoid potential problems. The debate highlights differing views on improving eBay’s shipping services.
Hello,
For a very long time I sold on Ebay... For the past 2 years, that's over... Calculating shipping costs is too complicated... Before it was simpler...
I can't understand why ebay doesn't generate the shipping labels itself like its competitors do... All of this should be done automatically... We would provide the weight, the dimensions if necessary, but for the rest Ebay would gain a lot by making label creation and shipping cost calculation automatic...
What do you think?
Everyone would win...

you write-----> "ebay does not generate shipping labels itself like its competitors do... All of this should be done automatically.."
Well yes... it does exist... you just have to go through packlink and accept taking on the problems of that platform...
You also say-------> " Ebay would benefit a lot by making label creation and the calculation of shipping costs automatic..."
what exactly does ebay gain...??
- its earnings come from taking a % cut on the amount of transactions... for the rest, it is its partner who gets fat off it...
We need to stop this need to be assisted at all costs.. to want to give up our freedom of choice and also our skills and leave them to others...
- do the work yourself, you'll get a certain amount of satisfaction out of it and also avoid a lot of hassle because we mustn't forget that it is the seller and not the middleman who pays for the broken pieces in case of damage...
Best regards

giving prerogatives to this already invasive site is absurd, at that point just sell in France and make your sales with shipping included
their shipping system is already ridiculous, and you want to give them more power
