Unable to pick up the package because of a buyer error, what should I do?
Summary: rfiw4939 has a problem with a parcel on eBay, delivered via Shop2Shop, but did not receive the pickup code needed to collect it. Customer service said they had the sender’s information instead of the recipient’s. koalagris suggests that the seller contact the carrier, but the latter also seems to be facing similar problems with Shop2Shop, as shared by drop-chris. drop-chris explains the challenges they face as a seller with this service, noting frequent errors and ineffective communication, which led them to switch providers.
Hello, I’m new to eBay and I’ve come across a problem I’ve never had before. I bought an item that was delivered via shop2shop to a locker. To collect the parcel, I need a pickup code. However, the parcel did arrive at the locker but I haven’t received anything by email or SMS. When I called shop2shop customer service, I was told that the information given as the recipient’s was actually the sender’s information and that nothing could be changed. I contacted the seller, who assures me they received nothing. I’m at an impasse and I won’t be able to pick up my parcel.
What should I do?

·2 years agoHello @rfiw4939
And the seller, can’t they contact the carrier to get the code? (pretty surprising already that they refuse to give it to you, since you’re the recipient).
without pickup the parcel will be returned to the seller...
Best regards

OP2 years agoThank you for your response. The problem is precisely that in the information they received, I am not the recipient. I am suggesting this solution to the seller, hoping that it will be resolved quickly.
Kind regards

·2 years agoHello
I’m a seller and I’ve had a lot of problems with Shop2Shop since November 2023
Out of 12 parcels I’ve sent:
- 6 were returned to me, including 2 where my customers didn’t receive the QR Code
- 3 were shipped to the wrong pickup point
I’ll explain a bit to buyers how sales and deliveries work (I’m only talking about Shop2Shop)
When we have a sale on Ebay, for delivery, we go through the “Packling” platform to benefit from the prices agreed with Ebay and Shop2Shop. However, on the Ebay order and on “Packlink” we don’t have the name of the pickup point, we only have a code and an address (a code that Shop2Shop doesn’t know, and Packlink is unable to give the name of the pickup point with this code, I have already asked). And indeed, on the shipping label, it’s the seller’s phone number that appears.
The problem I currently have is that my customer’s order arrived last Thursday the 1st at a Locker pickup point. They are asking me for the QR Code because they never received it. I’ll shorten it a bit, but after 5 claims to “Packlink” between February 1st and 6th, no response from them. I called Chronopost on Monday; according to them, they sent the QR Code to my phone number on Saturday even though I received nothing. They told me they would resend it on Monday, but I still haven’t received anything either. Chronopost’s response regarding the situation: if customers don’t receive an email, it’s Ebay’s fault (because of the secured email addresses). Ebay tells me to check with Packlink. There you go!!! It’s nobody’s fault and they all pass the buck.
As for me, and in order to fulfill my customer’s order, I have no choice but to send him another parcel by Colissimo (at my expense of course)
For buyers, believe me, after 7 years in business, I send about 100 parcels a month, there are times when it isn’t easy for us with carriers. When everything goes well, it’s great, but when there’s a problem with a parcel, it’s a horrible pain and we never get an answer,
As for me, I’m stopping Shop2Shop and Packlink, and I’m continuing with Mondial Relay and Colissimo (0 problems for 1.5 years)
Best regards
Chris
