I bought a book on eBay and never received the pickup code
Summary: anledag-0 expresses frustration after buying a book on eBay that they were never able to retrieve. eBay considers the package delivered, while the pickup point says it was returned. francexpressdeal and red71-2011 try to offer advice, suggesting contacting the seller directly and checking the tracking information. anledag-0 says they eventually managed to contact the seller but would have to pay extra fees, which they refuse to do. They accuse eBay and the seller of dishonesty and decide to share their bad experience publicly.
I bought a book on EBAY and never received the pickup code. EBAY refuses to deal with it on the grounds that my package is marked as received. But since I couldn't pick it up, I received a message saying that my package had been sent back from the relay point. What can I do?
In any case, I will never buy anything on EBAY again and I am going to hasten to tell everyone about this dishonesty on all the networks.
I'm used to checking before buying, I was naive in believing that such an important platform had to be at least a little in the service of its customers. Fatal mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for any possible solutions !!

OP1 year agoContinuation of the story!!
There’s no trace of the item I bought since I bought it without creating an account.
Do you think it’s normal for EBAY to let a purchase go through without requiring the buyer to provide the information needed to pick up the parcel?
I contacted EBAY, who says the parcel was delivered even though I have a message saying the item was sent back from the pickup point because it wasn’t collected.
I managed, with the help of franceexpressdeal (thank you), to contact the seller.
He’s asking me to pay the shipping costs again and even to pay €7 for safety (at that price, I found the book elsewhere, shipping included!).
The seller does not consider himself in any way responsible for EBAY’s procedures.
I consider that EBAY, and the seller since he is its sales partner, are responsible for this malfunction; and since I am in no way, and at no point, responsible for the situation myself, I will not pay a single cent more on this platform.
I saw in the reviews that I can’t be the only one being ripped off like this, I understand that some sellers must profit from such a platform.
I’m going to keep complaining to EBAY, with no illusions, I’ve understood that much, and I’m going to hurry to tell everyone how I got ripped off by EBAY and this seller.

the seller did his job; his only fault was using packlink
if he shipped his orders using the carrier's website and imported his ebay orders, you would have been satisfied
but this will happen to you on other platforms

" There’s no record of the item I bought since I bought it without creating an account "
What I don’t find normal is that you can buy online without creating an account.
" I’m going to rush to tell everyone everywhere how I got scammed by EBAY and this seller "
You’ve already said that twice now and in my opinion, that’s not going to happen...the best strategy is the one where the enemy doesn’t know what you’re going to do.
So go on, go find some happiness!

·1 year agoHello,
This story is a bit odd...
If you bought on Ebay, there is necessarily a record of the transaction in the " bought item " tab and so, by opening the transaction details, the possibility to contact the seller directly.
You can also track the parcel’s progress by clicking on the tracking number or on the tracking box.
You even have the approximate delivery date. So if you missed the delivery, it’s not Ebay’s fault.
When you buy something online, you don’t just walk away with your hands in your pockets and wait for it to arrive.
You need to pay attention to what happens after your purchase.
As for the pickup code, it’s secondary; the relay manager only needs it if there’s any doubt about your identity. Personally, I’ve never picked up my parcels with a pickup code.
Still, on that point, everyone does as they wish.
But for tracking and contact... personally, I find your story strange, or else you don’t know how to explain it ?!
Regards

me neither but in a locker how do you do it?
in a store especially if you're known there you take out your papers and they give you your parcel but with a locker it's a mess

·1 year agoHello Frelon,
I'm reading and replying late to your message. ^^
"but in a locker..."
Ok, I was going to ask you what a locker is, but so basically it's an automated machine... from what I understand.
Uh, I didn't even know that existed 😆 automated machines that hand out parcels.
You can't stop progress ^^

·1 year agohello @red71-2011 , it's a locker with lots of doors, you get there, you type in your code, a door opens and you pick up your package
but there’s no one to talk to, and if there’s nothing in the box, there’s no recourse since for them it counts as delivered

since the book has been sent back to the seller, have you contacted them to ask for a second shipment? (By paying the shipping costs again)

the seller exists... Do a thorough search by typing their username.
Then contact them directly to see if a second shipment is possible.
