The buyer paid €12 in shipping fees for domestic delivery, and he is abroad!
Summary: zmautom0 is having a problem with an eBay sale where the buyer paid €12 in domestic shipping fees, even though they live abroad, and shipping could cost up to €110. Several participants advise them to check and adjust their international shipping settings, cancel the transaction if necessary, or discuss with the buyer about covering the extra costs. zmautom0 thanks the participants for their advice and considers adjusting their future selling settings.
This is my first sale on ebay and the buyer paid 12 euro as domestic shipping fees while he lives abroad 800 km from my city and I imagine the shipping costs will exceed 110 euro given that I have never shipped a product since this is my first sale on ebay !
I wonder why he paid the domestic shipping fee of 12 euro when he must know that shipping 800 km away with relay mondial or a poste exceeds 100 euro given the weight of the item which is over 20 kg, and on top of that the buyer is an old user on ebay.
My question: Have I been taken for a ride since the buyer paid 12 euro in shipping fees and it's too late for me to claim the total payment estimated at 110 euro minimum via the post? I'm in the dark since ebay blocked the messaging and the transaction while asking for supporting documents for my company!
What would you do in my place to ensure the buyer pays the full shipping costs so I don't have to pay them myself, given that the price of the item sold is barely over 200 euro and if I pay for the delivery myself at 110 euro or more!! I'm done for!!!
Thank you in advance for your insights.

I’ve got this:

OP2 years agoA huge thank you, I just checked the Relay Mondial site, depending on the weight of the item the shipping rate from Belgium to France is euro if the estimate is real. Paying euro extra in fees for my first sale wouldn’t hurt too much!

It’s really all the international settings that you need to review ...
Even though it’s the same type of item, some are delivered worldwide, others are not ...
As for delivery fees, they’re completely inconsistent (example: 109 euros whether it’s a shipment to France or Chile ... I think bpost should still make a difference!)

OP2 years agoFirst of all, thank you for your reply, but when I created my listing, I did indeed put 12 euros for a national delivery service in Belgium and 109 euros for an international delivery service to France, since I’m a beginner there must be something I missed! What did you think?

@zmautom0
Sorry, but you are the source of the error; the buyer followed the instructions you put in your listing regarding shipping costs.
all that’s left is for you to work it out with your buyer to cancel the transaction, or else you need to cover the extra postage costs yourself.

Maybe check with your buyer about shipping via Mondial Relay from Belgium to France at the eBay rate

OP2 years agoA huge thank you for your reply,
I’ll see with the buyer whether it isn’t too late, since he has already paid 12 euros as shipping costs to France. Besides, I’m blocked by eBay because I don’t have the supporting documents for my company.
Thanks in advance.

·2 years agoHello @zmautom0
I don't know where you came up with your shipping rates, but you should weigh your rims + packaging and check the corresponding price online for each carrier you want/can use... (Post, Mondial Relay or others...) -
and also review your prices on your listings... which go from €12 to €110 for the same thing...
That's not very serious... and it's not the forum respondents who are going to do that research for you, or weigh your packages.
Do the calculations yourself so buyers can see that your listings are credible.
Thanks.

your buyer paid what you indicated in your listings.
You are registered on ebay.be and the problem is that you haven't excluded any countries in your international shipping settings.
