eBay international shipping: tracking not up to par
Summary: gbourdon0 raises an issue with an international delivery from the USA via eBay, where the package seems to have been stuck for a month after passing through several US states. frelonverre and felin12 suggest opening a dispute for an item not received and contacting the seller to resolve the situation. red71-2011 shares a personal experience with a similar customs hold-up and recommends communicating with the seller before filing a dispute, while remaining open to that option if necessary.
Hello,
I have an item bought in the USA that seems to have been stuck for a month (according to eBay's delivery tracking) in one of their international shipping warehouses. Obviously the upper limit of the estimated delivery date has been exceeded, and nothing is moving.
What's odd is that the package has already passed through quite a few U.S. states: California, Texas, Florida, Georgia... in short, all of this does not bode well for me.
Have other people experienced delays like this, and how long should you expect for a delivery through eBay's international shipping system?
Thanks!

·2 years agoHello,
It’s possible that customs is the one holding up the package.
This happened to me once with a purchase from the USA when I was bringing back a French mineral sold on a US site.
The mineral in question was held by customs.
After several weeks of waiting, I contacted the seller who explained the reason for the delay.
We agreed on a refund without going through a dispute. It’s pretty rare to find sellers this honest.
Personally, I’d advise you to contact him before starting a dispute. A dispute could make him dig in his heels and shut down any amicable negotiation.
But if it really’s a dead end, consider going through a refund procedure via a dispute if that’s still possible.

·2 years agoHello everyone
@gbourdon0
For your information, you have one month after the estimated date mentioned by Ebay to open a dispute.
First of all, if the deadline allows it, since the seller is responsible for his purchase, contact him and ask him "what’s going on with your parcel",
.(only he may be able to sort out a situation with his carrier)
If there’s no response from him or the response is unsatisfactory, you can consider opening a dispute for non-receipt.

follow-up with the US is hit or miss, but to be on the safe side I recommend opening a dispute for item not received
