MONDIAL RELAY - relay points to neighboring countries
Summary: zouzoucaillou wants to offer a parcel locker delivery service to neighboring countries via Mondial Relay on eBay, but finds that this option is not directly available on the platform. Mondial Relay is already linked to their account, but they cannot offer the international pickup-point option as they do for France. lingma85 suggests using generic shipping terms in listings, while other participants discuss costs and strategies for attracting buyers by offering reduced shipping fees or including the shipping cost in the item price. It is concluded that the pickup-point option for international shipping is not supported by eBay, potentially requiring adjustments to the sales strategy.
Hello everyone,
My question is the following:
I'd like to offer a parcel relay delivery service to neighboring countries - Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and I think the Netherlands. Mondial Relay offers parcel relay delivery to these countries (as is possible on **bleep** for example).
Is it possible to offer this delivery method on eBay? Or does it have to be agreed with the buyer before the order is confirmed?
In the "international" delivery options offered on eBay, Mondial Relay isn't mentioned..( screenshot)
There you go, I hope that's clear.🙂 Thanks in advance for your help🙏
Regards!

OP2 years agoOkay.. hello.
What can that do for me? Well, exactly, the point is that the buyer pays less for shipping and is therefore more likely to buy, it’s simple. My buyers already have the option to choose Colissimo delivery if they want, but they’ll mostly choose the cheapest delivery offered. between a shipment, e.g.: France to Belgium Colissimo €13.45 and a MR shipment €6 (I think) relay point in Belgium, people often don’t hesitate.
And when I say “not necessarily faster” I was only talking about MR between home delivery or relay point delivery. (It’s faster for them to deliver to a relay point rather than to deliver to a private individual at home) for home delivery, yes, the post office will do its best (I worked there as a mail carrier for a few years) but they won’t be able to compete with the competition, that’s for sure... anyway.
I buy from time to time on this online site that starts with a V and ends with ..nted, and I can have an item delivered to a relay point, coming from Belgium, Spain, or Italy.. for example. That’s why I was asking whether there was this option on Ebay, but apparently not, it has to be specified in the listing description..
Have a nice day

@zouzoucaillou
and can I have a parcel delivered to a pickup point, an item coming from Belgium, Spain, or Italy.. for example
In any case you don't have any other choice for France
Best regards

OP2 years agoThank you for your reply.
Actually, I was only talking about foreign buyers (Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands..) where Mondia relay is already established.
Basically, Mondial relay offers pickup-point delivery in these countries, but the Ebay terms and conditions manager does not offer it: the only equivalent option is "other international economy delivery" but to home delivery. That was all I was asking for.
For shipments in France, that’s fine 🙂

OP2 years agoAh yes sorry, I have it delivered to a pickup point. Yes, home delivery isn’t possible. So the countries I mentioned can do it.

I understand your issue better now when reading your items for sale
it’s true that paying shipping at the actual rate in your case kills sales
if I were you, I’d raise my prices a bit and make shipping free (if I were in your shoes)
zouzoucaillou
OP2 years agoYes, that's certainly a possibility. Something to think about👍

OP2 years agoSo I use Mondial Relay at home, but it's more expensive, and not necessarily faster...

·2 years agoHello @zouzoucaillou
Start by linking your eBay account and Mondial Relay------> Send your eBay orders with ease - Mondial Relay
and free yourself from eBay's shipping platform...
Ship directly with the carrier of your choice and indicate on your listings ----> "other standard, economical or express deliveries according to the rates + tracking that you see fit.

OP2 years agoHello, thanks for replying to me!🙂 My accounts are already linked. I buy my shipping labels on MR. I just wanted to know. 👍 I use "other international delivery" but then the buyer automatically enters their postal address, whereas I'd like them to be able to choose a pickup point near their home, and therefore pay lower shipping costs..
So apparently it's not possible to offer pickup points abroad.
OK thanks anyway. Kind regards

what difference does it make to you, you're not the one paying
in any case, you can't keep cutting costs forever without degrading the service, and MR deliveries abroad are well below the postal rate, so what's the point
