I’d like to know the seller’s responsibility in the event of a theft of an expensive package (400 euros) that was not signed for when it was left outside my house? In addition, the seller gave me a bad tracking number claiming the parcel was still on its way and only gave me the "correct" one 9 days after this delivery of the parcel (according to the tracking) when I asked questions about the delay. The post office tells me that because of the wrong tracking information given by the seller it is too late to investigate, the delivery was made by a subcontractor and it was either a delivery error (wrong address), or theft after delivery. I was at home all day on the supposed delivery date (according to the tracking) and no one came to my door then I think it was an address error by the delivery people. In 20 years on eBay, this is the only time a professional seller has sent me a big expensive package without a signature. The seller tells me it’s not his problem... Advice?
