Shipping rate to the United States
Hello,
La Poste refuses to let me send a small package as a tracked letter to the United States because its thickness exceeds 3 cm. In fact, it's 1 cm too thick. The only thing is, the rate they’re offering me is ridiculous: €32.85! Especially since my package weighed only 93g and there’s nothing of special value inside.
Do you know of another, cheaper shipping method?

Shipping rates are the same for everyone.... and for the US (zone C) it's €29.55 for a parcel without signature.. the rate you were given corresponds to Colissimo with registered mail added.
If you thought your item had to be sent as a letter (registered or not) ) internationally and you didn't check the rate... it's obvious too that if the item's price is lower than the shipping cost, you'll be out of pocket. Then you need to rethink the packaging to get to 3 cm thick or cancel the sale... and let your buyer know about this cancellation because of an error in the listing...
You risk an issue with your seller performance... which is less serious than losing money on a sale...

OP3 years agoThanks. Yes, I had looked at the international tracked letter rate (€6.45), but I hadn't noticed the 3 cm thing. I was wondering whether, apart from La Poste, there was another company that delivered small parcels to the United States at a lower rate than €29.55. Kind of like Mondial Relais for France or Belgium.

It was just a simple reply to what you wrote here---> "Only, the rate they’re offering me is crazy"
Nothing more... and nothing less...
To answer your last question... For the US... as far as I know, there’s nothing else. (more expensive = yes.../// cheaper = no )
