Exorbitant rates on the Chronopost International price list
Summary: teluohc expresses frustration at Packlink's inconsistent rates for international parcel shipping. After noticing a billed price that was clearly higher than the advertised rate, they share their dissatisfaction with the platform's reliability. lingma85 suggests avoiding intermediaries and handling shipments independently. teluohc replies that the platform's appeal lies in its negotiated rates and ease of use, although frelonverre expresses doubts about its effectiveness because of frequent bugs. The exchange highlights how difficult it is to balance convenience and pricing reliability in delivery services.
For Packlink's international rates, a price of €13.81 is shown for 0 to 3 kg for zone 1 including Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, the Netherlands. And when you send the parcel, for 500 g in a small parcel (miniature car) the rate is €35.20, which of course the buyer does not want to pay, so the sale is cancelled.
Complaint to Packlink, response: the rates are given for information only Chronopost calculates by volumetric weight
NONSENSE! Don't rely on Packlink anymore to write your listings!

·2 years agoHello @teluohc
Why use the site’s shipping platform.... ? - it’s not mandatory...
As a seller, you are free to manage your account...
Therefore, avoid intermediaries and do your work as a seller independently.
(for example, you go to the post office, you fill out a Colissimo form, you pay and you ship.. ... Same with Mondial Relay if needed by linking your eBay account to Mondial Relay directly.... here---->Send your eBay orders with complete simplicity - Mondial Relay)
Best regards

OP2 years agoHello,
The advantage of such a platform is negotiated rates. On Mondial Relay we can get the negotiated rate with Ebay but not for Chronopost, UPS,. I also sometimes use Packlink for sales on other platforms like Naturabuy, **bleep**. The advantage even for a Colissimo that is the same price as at the post office is to avoid entering address and contact details and save time, I'm not talking about users who ship ten parcels a month

You are right... if everything goes well...
But when there’s a problem and you’re forced to waste time to win back a buyer who’s gone and disappointed by the delivery... that would then go under "losses and profits" for your company...
As already said.... if you’re free to manage your account... you’re also free to manage your company...
In that case.. one can be surprised when you say, in your 1st message-----> "
Complaint to Packlink, reply: the rates are given for information only Chronopost calculates by volumetric weight
NONSENSE! Don’t rely on Packlink anymore to write your listings ! "
then...
"The point of such a platform is negotiated rates" 'in your last message...
- Either there is a contradiction...
- or... I didn’t understand, which is entirely possible (having a fairly black-and-white mindset on certain subjects...)..

the appeal is understandable for the buyer, that's not the seller's problem
as for saving time with a platform that has so many bugs, I have my doubts
