Foreign seller can't apply international fees
Summary: francis2nice explains that he tried to buy a rare item from an American seller through eBay's Global Shopping program, but the order was canceled because the seller ran into technical problems setting up international shipping fees. Despite his experience, the seller was unable to fix the setup even with online help. lingma85 suggests that he check his inbox for any possible solutions.
To put it simply, I spotted a rare item that only an American seller was selling, but they only shipped within the United States. After a few exchanges with him, he agreed and told me he had modified his listing so he could ship via eBay's Global Shipping Program. It worked — I went back to the listing and yes, now I could buy it... but since I'm used to buying in the U.S., I'm starting to know the prices and that surprised me because I saw €18 and some cents, whereas it's usually more like €30 to €40 or even more... Anyway, I paid by PayPal, all good, then order confirmed, everything was going great. And 2 hours later I see by email that the order was cancelled, so I ask why? He tells me that apparently he can't sign up for eBay's Global Shipping, says he's been trying for 2 hours and still can't manage it and that he asked a friend who sells internationally. He notices that her page is different from his. He tells me that his shipping preferences page isn't working... that's the problem, basically he's asking me to help him fix it, because even with tutorials on YouTube he still can't do it, so anyway if I don't find the issue, goodbye to my precious!!
Would anyone know what is misconfigured please?? I should mention it's an experienced seller with more than 700 sales and 100% positive feedback. thank you in advance. Francis
