code:paid
Summary: rinrin28 expressed doubts about using the reference 'code:paid' when sending parcels to the United Kingdom. They’re wondering whether they should write this code on the parcel or how it is used in the customs process. A reply from felin12 suggests a link for additional information. rinrin28 explains their previous experiences and assumes that the recipient must provide the code to unlock the parcel, but they remain uncertain about the sender’s exact role.
Hello,
I often send internationally but for the United Kingdom, I see a reference indicated code:paid (as for Switzerland for example) in "order details".
I never know what I’m supposed to do with this code:paid number ...
Should I write it somewhere (I always make my Colissimo labels at home), on the parcel or is it not my concern (as the sender) ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

OP4 months agoI added the code:paid on the top of the parcel (as I already did in the past), but I don't think that's how it works: that would be way too random for the British customs officers!
I imagine that the parcel is only delivered to the recipient when they have provided the code:paid number and the payment invoice or something along those lines...
In Japan, payment is made during customs clearance upon the arrival of the parcel on Japanese soil. The parcel continues on its way only once customs clearance has been completed.
I think it's up to the recipient to provide the code:paid and the invoice in order to release their parcel.
However, for the sender (us!!!), it's unclear: we wonder whether we're doing it properly!
