testimonials from those for whom eBay stopped selling. when was it for you?
Summary: marinegalerie shares their experience of a sudden drop in activity on eBay in December 2023, mentioning a similar situation observed on eBay UK, where sales temporarily increase just before store fees. lingma85 confirms that this phenomenon has been observed for over ten years, suggesting the need to diversify activity to avoid slow periods. rosedebretagne mentions another discussion topic on eBay where sellers are running into problems with promotions not being applied, as well as a lively discussion about the drop in sales since September 2023, regardless of usual market conditions.
hello ,
I’ll start by answering my own question: for me, it was in December 2023. all of a sudden, nothing anymore. a month at zero had never happened, even when I was a newbie on the site.
I also use ebay uk and I saw on the forum there several testimonials from people who have a shop and who report that it’s as if the algorithm temporarily unblocks them when the shop fees are due, just enough to make the turnover covering the rent so it doesn’t get deducted. I can confirm that I’m in this situation on ebay fr.

·1 year agohello ,
there's a topic that hasn't gotten the attention it deserved, and that's the one titled " ebay is making my promos disappear " : a member is complaining that their " free store for 6 months for new seller " isn't being applied .
it lets you see how some have been pushed down while they pay for others who are being boosted ...
you also have various viewpoints expressed on the topic " sales in freefall since september 2023 " which has 46 replies to date .
what's certain is that the problem has nothing to do with " it's because it's cold it's not the holidays people don't have any money anymore poor thing it's because we have to sponsor it's because it's the holidays it's too hot ... "

·1 year agoHello @marinegalerie
Unfortunately, this phenomenon is nothing new...
- it started appearing more than 10 years ago, when we realized that during certain weeks, or even fortnights, listings in shops seemed to disappear into the site's oubliettes... it was cyclical...
Which is why there is a certain obligation not to put all your eggs in one basket if you want to make your business last.....
