Bye bye Ebay
Summary: stfillon shares their frustration with Ebay, explaining that their funds are being held after selling an item, despite confirmed shipment. They feel the platform is now more geared toward professionals. *miss-tigri* and francois-o explain that the same conditions apply to professional and private sellers, pointing out that the 14-day fund hold is due to their status as a new seller. francois-o advises contacting customer service for an early release if tracking information and a positive review are available.
Hello,
I've been registered on Ebay for years and have used it as an occasional seller many times. I had left three listings up for a very long time (last sale in 2021). I had a sale this weekend and then I discover that the funds are blocked until the cows come home... I paid extra postage at the Post Office to get tracking for the item's delivery. I had doubts about the buyer, which I had raised with EBAY's online "support", who was utterly incapable of reassuring me.
Still, I sent it, item delivered to the mailbox yesterday. Contacted Ebay to unblock the funds. I'm told "I'm requesting the release" and still nothing this morning, of course.
I'm fed up. This platform is now mainly geared toward professionals. We're forced to go through payment via Ebay, there are constraints everywhere. So this was my last sale on Ebay. I deleted the two remaining listings. And they won't see me again.
Other selling sites exist now, and there's no need for Ebay's diktats anymore.
It's pathetic to change the business and industrial model this much at this point!

Hello @stfillon ,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having a bad experience on eBay.
@felin12 and @*miss-tigri* are right, professional and private sellers are subject to the same conditions. Since you haven't sold anything since you signed up for eBay's new payment services, you are considered a new seller.
As a result, the funds are held for 14 days.
Once you have built up a sales history and collected a few ratings, this type of hold will no longer be active.
For a request for manual release of funds to be eligible with customer service, 2 conditions must be met:
1. The parcel tracking confirms delivery.
2. The buyer has left a positive rating.
I invite you to contact customer service to follow up with them; otherwise the funds will be released 14 days after the purchase date.
Best regards
François

Enough is enough. This platform is now essentially geared toward professionals. We’re forced to go through payment by Ebay, there are constraints everywhere.
For information:
Professional sellers or private individuals are subject to the same conditions for selling and receiving payments
Kind regards

Since you haven’t sold anything for a long time, you are considered a new seller and your payment is therefore blocked for a minimum of 14 days
