Order refunded too early
Summary: belisa61 refunded an order to a buyer after a supposed delivery delay. However, the buyer eventually received the package and offered to refund via PayPal. lingma85 points out that there is no dispute manager on Ebay for this kind of situation, and nareio advises following the procedures to avoid unpleasant surprises. frelonverre shares a personal anecdote about a bad day to put things in perspective, while belisa61 expresses hope of getting the money back. The tone of the thread is both supportive and practical.
/Hello, I refunded an order sent by tracked letter to a buyer; the letter was posted on 11/19 and still hadn’t been received on 11/26. So I issued the refund on 11/27. When I checked the tracking number the other day (12/16), I saw that the buyer received my shipment on 12/7. I just contacted her to ask if she intends to pay me for the refunded order that she did receive... Otherwise, is there a dispute resolution manager on Ebay to recover my refund that I should not have made?
Thanks in advance for the help with my question (in any case, I sadly see that honesty no longer pays these days). Have a good evening

there are days like that when we should stay in bed
mine, my TV was full of scratches, it took me a quarter of an hour to get the picture back, then I spilled my coffee in my sleeve, you, you pulled a scam and you lost your money
all that would be missing is for your buyer to open a dispute and get refunded!!!!!!!
cursed, I tell you

·2 years agoWhoa! You're seeing everything in black (coffee) today, @frelonverre ! It's sunny, it's May's "remark": the worst is not certain!!

·2 years agoHey, @frelonverre
What are you complaining about? You could've spilled the coffee on the TV. Even that's where "short circuit" comes from!!
Have a nice Sunday!

·2 years agohello @nareio
the table is far from the TV so there’s no risk of spilling an espresso in it
this big-screen TV was given to me because of those colored lines on the screen, you have to turn it on first and then the decoder, if you mess up you switch everything off, wait, and turn it back on in the right order, it was supposed to be shot, well that was 2 years ago, it still works
have a good day

·2 years agoHello @belisa61
I know this probably won’t be much consolation for you, but may your mishap at least serve as a reminder of some essential rules: to avoid trouble,
1) You have to follow the procedures (here, it’s up to the buyer to act first if a package doesn’t arrive)
2)You have to respect the deadlines (here: the time margin provided to make up for various possible delays caused by the carrier)
These procedures are handled automatically by robots. The initiatives humans can take are incomprehensible to them.
But you can try contacting your buyer to see with them how to recover what, in fact, belongs to you, even if no procedure is provided for this case (to be checked)
You may (perhaps) discover that honesty still exists...
Kind regards.

You are asking------->"Otherwise, is there a dispute manager on Ebay to recover my refund that I should not have made ?"
Sadly.. No...
In your case, all that remains is your buyer's honesty...
Why did you rush to refund her... ?
Kind regards
