Major payment issues after the sales
Summary: noventiss is having problems with payments on eBay, where funds are held for 30 days after delivery, unlike the usual 2 days. Despite a healthy account and no restriction notice, this change is affecting their cash flow. lingma85 suggests contacting customer service or FEVAD for clarification. noventiss has already contacted customer service, which justified the hold as a protective measure. francexpressdeal advises pressing customer service for a clear answer, noting that the first responses may be AI-generated.
Hello everyone,
I’m posting this message because I absolutely do not understand what is going on with my eBay payments, and I’d like to know whether other sellers have ever run into this situation.
Until recently, everything was working normally. After my parcels were delivered, my funds were released about 2 days after delivery confirmation.
My account is still in excellent standing:
- about 600 sales made in 4 and a half months;
- 100% positive feedback;
- Top Rated Seller badge recently earned;
- fast deliveries in 1 to 5 days with tracking.
From one day to the next, I started noticing a change. In my payment history, it no longer said that the funds would be available 2 days after delivery. Instead, most of my sales simply show “Funds on hold,” with no date.
Today, most of these orders have already been delivered to buyers. Yet eBay is now showing a payout date of August 18 for many sales.
When I open the details of an order, I even see the message saying that the funds will be released 30 days after the parcel is delivered to the customer.
I really do not understand why this change appeared overnight. I received no restriction notice, no request for documents, and no alert about my account.
This situation is extremely difficult for my business, because it completely destroys my cash flow. I have to pay my supplier well before I receive the funds from my sales, and with a 30-day delay after delivery, that becomes very hard to manage.
Have any sellers already run into this problem? If so, do you know the reason for this change, and is there a solution to get back to normal operation?
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to reply.

·2 weeks agoHello @noventiss
It would seem that only Customer Service can answer the questions you have, if your dashboard isn't clear enough.
See here---> eBay Customer Service
On the forum, between the comments about an AI that causes more disruption than it helps, repeated bugs on just about any page of the site... it's hard to give you an answer.
If Customer Service isn't able to give you a proper answer or help you out.. all that's left is to alert the FEVAD, whose contact details you can find online.
Kind regards

OP2 weeks agoHello,
Thank you very much for your response.
I did indeed contact customer service this morning. They explained to me that this holding of funds was put in place to protect both buyers and sellers, and that my money was safe with eBay.
But I’m still not really sure I understand. Just a few days ago, all my orders said that the funds would be released 2 days after the customer received the package. And overnight, without any explanation or notification, it changed to 30 days after delivery.
I think 30 days is a really very long delay, especially when you run a business and have to pay suppliers in advance.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply to me.

given the situation, the response you were given is unacceptable.
If the contact you had was by email, you should know that the first response is made by an AI. So keep insisting until you get a human who gives you a proper answer. The AI merely repeated almost word for word what is stated in the help pages:
Blocked payments | eBay
I quote: "We sometimes hold payments to ensure the smooth processing of your order or to confirm your account information. This allows us to keep the eBay marketplace safe for buyers and sellers."
There is surely a reason why eBay would suddenly block your funds for 30 days.
See the link sent earlier. If nothing justifies this block, get back in touch with them and if the response is not satisfactory, follow @*lingma85 's advice: alert FEVAD
