    Catastrophe

Big problem with eBay. No more proper customer service at all. Hiring in India, they understand nothing, give you the wrong info about the procedure to follow for a dispute, and confuse eBay seller protection policy with buyer protection. No more way to get French customer service in France with someone who speaks French and by phone. I received an empty and opened package at Mondial Relay, I had to refuse it, I have the photos. I also have an email from Mondial Relay confirming that I refused the package. Impossible to get a refund because an Indian eBay customer service rep told me to file a claim for item not received instead of return if I believe the second Indian customer service rep. Impossible to send photos, customer service sends you a link to upload attachments but it applies to sellers and not buyers. eBay's Indian customer service tells you to file a complaint at the police station and send them the report to be reimbursed, except you have nothing to go with to file a complaint since the empty package was refused directly by you at Mondial Relay. And as a buyer, that doesn't concern you, especially if you refused the package because it was empty. That normally falls to the seller. Result: the dispute was closed against me. I am waiting for one last order placed on eBay, and for good they will have lost me as a regular customer on their platform.

    Received a counterfeit item

Hello, I received a blatant counterfeit following a purchase on eBay. Upon receiving the package, I found that it was a blatant counterfeit. Already owning an authentic example of this item, I was able to immediately point out the anomalies. I have already sent detailed comparison photos to the seller. The seller is pretending not to know and sent me a return slip to print out. However, I strongly doubt his good faith, especially since his account was only created very recently, in May 2026. Today I find myself at an impasse: the law strictly forbids the transport and reshipment of counterfeit goods, under penalty of criminal sanctions. Since the seller is based in the Czech Republic, such a return would involve illegal cross-border transport, which I categorically refuse. I want my case to be reviewed by an eBay advisor so I can assert the Client Guarantee for an item that is non-compliant and unlawful. I'm kind of going around in circles on the eBay site, no longer able to contact them by phone. I contacted their customer service by email via a link but I’m wondering whether it is still active. What would you advise me to do? Thanks, sdu425

Address change issues for online purchases

Hello everyone, I'm running into a problem that some of you may have already experienced. I recently moved from Hauts-de-France to the Landes, but despite several attempts to update my address, my orders keep getting delivered to my old address in Aisne. This is causing delays and major logistical complications. I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation before? How did you manage to solve this problem? Are there specific steps or tips to make sure sellers properly update our information? What tools or services would you recommend to check that our new address is correctly registered and taken into account when shopping online? Thanks in advance for your advice and shared experiences!

    eBay, the big crash!?

Ebay, the big collapse!? Far fewer visitors, so fewer and fewer buyers, unless perhaps you're Pokémon collectors or fans of those live selling sites that are taking over the web at the expense of traditional sellers. No more direct contact with a .... human being, but with a stupid machine, an AI with absolutely no empathy (so is this the future of humanity?!). A loyal customer from the start, I knew periods rich in sales and human contact, and I sadly see that this site, which was once so brilliant, is now nothing more than a soulless machine and has become only the shadow of itself. People can say whatever they want to explain the cause, but the reality is there, shared by everyone who knew eBay's glory days, and there is no ambiguity about it. Should we believe in a comeback to come? I doubt it, but as the saying goes, hope keeps us going. JP

    Communication

It seems to have become impossible to get someone from Ebay on the phone. The new process has all the charm of a bureaucratic nightmare: it doesn't understand anything about the questions and replies with nonsense. The competitors can rub their hands together, because good internal communication is decisive for the smooth functioning of a merchant site and the buy-in of its users...

Payment already made (with proof) but still being demanded by eBay — no response for 2 weeks

Hello, I’m turning to the community because my case hasn’t been moving forward for more than a month now through regular customer service. Summary of the situation: following a dispute closed in favor of a buyer, an amount of €255 was charged to my seller account. I already paid this amount on July 3, 2026 via Revolut (payment confirmed as "completed" and definitively debited). Yet my eBay account still shows a debit balance of €255, with collection-type reminders. I have provided customer service several times with: - The full Revolut statement for July, showing the €255 debit to eBay with no subsequent credit - A written certificate from Revolut confirming that no refund was received - The ARN number and the transaction authorization code An advisor confirmed to me that they had forwarded the case to a higher-level team to determine the cause, telling me that I would be contacted again as soon as there was any update. It has now been two weeks since that message, with no news at all, even though the case has now been ongoing for more than a month in total. Has anyone ever run into this kind of situation, or knows how to escalate a case that is stuck like this? I’m also preparing to submit the matter to the e-commerce mediator if the situation doesn’t get resolved quickly, but I wanted to try this route first. Thanks in advance for any help or similar experience.

A question for eBay sellers: how do you present an esoteric activity without losing its authenticity?

Hello everyone, I’ve been asking myself a question for some time about how to present a fairly specific kind of activity on eBay. I’ve been working for several years in the world of rituals, esotericism, and spiritual practices . In my opinion, it’s an area that calls for a presentation different from a standard product, because the people interested in it are looking for both a clear explanation and a real world around what they discover. On eBay, I find it especially interesting that the buyer can discover a shop, check the feedback, look at the different listings, and gradually get a sense of how serious the seller is. As for me, I use the account rituelinfo , with listings focused in particular on rituals, spirituality, magic, and the different esoteric traditions . I mainly try to work on the descriptions to explain the intention of the ritual, its symbolism, and the approach offered, rather than simply putting a few keywords and a price. I also think this is a real challenge on eBay: how do you make a very specialized world known without falling into an overly commercial presentation? Personally, I think a good listing should tell a story. The title should make the subject immediately clear, while the description can provide more context and answer the questions a buyer might have. In esotericism, this approach seems even more important to me. Someone looking for a protection ritual , a money ritual , a ritual linked to luck , prosperity , or a particular spiritual practice is not necessarily looking for the same thing as someone buying a traditional object. So I’m curious to hear your thoughts: for you, what makes an eBay listing inspire trust? Is it the number of feedback ratings, the quality of the photos, the description, how long the account has existed, the precision of the information, or simply the way the seller presents their activity? I think it would be interesting to discuss this, especially with sellers who also work in niche fields. Looking forward to reading your experiences and advice.

    dispute

Hello I am still waiting for a response regarding a dispute with a seller. I had contacted customer service about this. It is a 16 GB memory stick that is not compatible with my HP 17-by0085nf computer. The seller certifies that this memory stick works on my computer, and before the purchase I clearly specified that he certified that this memory stick could be installed on my PC. I installed the stick twice and it does not work. I contacted HP, the manufacturer, who after checking confirmed that it was not suitable for my PC. It can only take a maximum 8GB memory stick. I only have one slot and when I logged into the system, indeed, we cannot install a stick larger than 8GB. I contacted the seller several times, and he does not want to hear anything. He did not reply to my last message, but he closed the discussion. So I asked eBay to step in, and they did in fact start a procedure against the seller. So I am still waiting on this dispute. Regards
