I've been trying for several days to change my ebay settings, in order to offer items for sale with reduced shipping costs, without success...
I've read a lot of discussions and spoken many times with customer service, but nothing works. Besides, everything is OK according to customer service...
If I understand correctly, you need to go to:
Account settings
Shipping preferences
Combined payments -> Allow combined payment for all items purchased
Fixed shipping cost rule -> add an amount for each additional item
So Add -> 1 -> Profile name (By the way, what's this profile/profile name?)
Nothing works, I tried logging out and buying 2 items from my shop. The shipping costs didn't update, you have to pay these shipping costs twice...
The goal is to add €1 in shipping per additional item.
I recently sold 2 items to the same person with shipping costs charged twice, resulting in neutral feedback. I don't want to deal with that anymore... Can someone help me please?

·2 years agoIf there is a problem with a customer who is too quick and buys and pays for several items (with the corresponding shipping costs)...
I quickly refund the overpayment so there is a single shipment on one of the items' invoices...
Ebay refunds its share of the shipping, the customer is satisfied and kept loyal;....

Avoid, if possible, "la poste lettre suivie" because it is not recognized by eBay in case of non-receipt of a purchase... because there is no delivery scan in the tracking...... you only have proof of shipment and that is not enough...
If there's a problem, you're out of pocket...

OP2 years agoThat’s exactly how I was planning to do it.
Unfortunately, the order has to be canceled and someone has to pay fees... Either the buyer or the seller...
Also, it’s very rare for people to contact me before confirming their purchases.
And yet I put: Feel free to contact me as well to reduce shipping costs when purchasing multiple items on each listing.

on your listings you need to include the instruction that in the case of multiple purchases
you should be contacted to adjust the shipping costs
otherwise two purchases mean two parcels

OP2 years agoAfter a lot of persuasion, I finally found Frelonverre.
If it can help you, here are the steps to follow.
First, settings and adding one or more profiles:
Account settings -> Shipping preferences
Combined payments -> Allow combined payment for all purchased items
Fixed shipping fee rule -> add an amount for each additional item
-> Add -> 1,00 -> Profile name (in my case "additional item") -> save
Second, creating rules.
Account settings -> Sales conditions manager
Create conditions -> Shipping
Create a name for this condition (Shipping fees no. 1), and add a description.
Domestic shipping
-> Fixed fees : same cost for all buyers.
-> Add the chosen shipping fee, its cost, as well as the cost for an additional item (several lines possible).
-> Check Apply my rule on fixed shipping fees with the profile name "additional item".
-> Select a shipping time
-> Save
And finally, edit the listings:
Edit a listing -> Shipping
Shipping conditions
Select your condition Shipping fees no. 1
-> Edit
So thanks to this system, I was able to create several profiles/conditions depending on the items for sale
Shipping fees no. 1 Mondial Relay (500gr) + La Poste tracked letter (100gr) + €1/small additional item (under 50gr).
Shipping fees no. 2 Mondial Relay (500gr) + La Poste tracked letter (100gr) + €1.50/large additional item (between 50gr and 95gr).
Shipping fees no. 3 Mondial Relay (500gr) + La Poste tracked letter (250gr) + €2/small additional item (between 100 and 240gr).
Shipping fees no. 4 Mondial Relay (500gr) + Shop2shop (500gr) + €1/additional item.
Shipping fees no. 5 Mondial Relay (500gr)
And I linked all my listings to these conditions, depending on their weight and size.
You have to be really careful with the items you’re selling.
Ex: someone buys me 2 items weighing 55gr each with shipping fees no. 1 for 100gr.
I would have to pay the rest out of pocket to send the parcel (110 instead of 100 gr).
Hence my shipping fees no. 2 condition, for items weighing between 50 and 95gr.

·2 years agoI have the same problem with reducing shipping costs for Buy It Now and combined shipping.
In any case, thanks for your explanation, but wow, the complexity!!!! I think it would be simpler to know that, as soon as there are multiple purchases for the same buyer, Ebay should block the payment and require the seller to recalculate the shipping costs, simply.
But this solution would not be in Ebay's best interest because it takes a fee on shipping costs, so that would mean a loss of money. It prefers not to give clear information for this kind of sale and to leave sellers and buyers to fend for themselves ....

remember that in the event of a dispute (loss or otherwise), each parcel has a number and entitles you to a refund in that case
and besides, it doesn't cost you anything, it costs your buyer
so going out of your way to save a few pennies for people incapable of reading the text of an ad, meh!!!!!!!!
