How long after receiving can a buyer return an item [non pro]?
Summary: thingbl-0 asks how long a buyer has to file a claim with eBay after receiving an item, because a buyer was reporting software issues with a camera that was sold. felin12 and *miss-tigri* explain that the buyer has one month to report a dispute for an "item not as described," but up to 180 days if payment was made by PayPal. thingbl-0 thanks them for the explanations, finds the time limits generous, and koalagris adds that it can go up to 13 months for a credit card chargeback, advising keeping proof of shipment and delivery.
Hello,
I’d like to know how long a buyer has before filing a claim with eBay to return an item?
Let me explain: I sold a security camera with "returns refused"...
The buyer contacted me to say he was having trouble setting it up on his network, but we agreed that it wasn’t a hardware fault caused by my camera, which is 100% new, but rather a software problem (already, when it comes to computers, things aren’t always simple, and this kind of setup is even trickier)...
So he’s trying to sort it out... but hasn’t gotten back to me since.
It’s been about ten days since he received the package...
Another question: I can’t find anywhere the information about his payment method (to know whether he paid by PayPal)... Would you know where we can find that?
And also: I haven’t found anywhere how to disable PayPal payment for buyers who visit my shop.
I did find answers to my last two questions, but they’re old and since then the site has been modified and the instructions no longer match.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Okay, that's broad!

·3 years agoHello,
In theory, it can even go up to 13 months (chargeback), which is why you need to keep all proof of sending and delivery (screenshot) for that entire time.

·3 years agoGood evening @thingbl-0
the buyer has 1 month after receiving the item to report a "item not as described" dispute to eBay.
You cannot remove PayPal from your listings, the payment methods are imposed by eBay
best regards
