dropshipping
Hello,
I was wondering if dropshipping on ebay is allowed, if so:
- Is dropshipping on eBay a secure method of online selling?
- How does eBay track orders to know whether the buyer has actually received their order?
- Is it possible for a buyer to claim they did not receive their order and how does eBay handle this type of situation?
Thanks in advance for your reply

At the CCI in your region you’ll have all the information you need to do dropshipping legally.
And for Ebay, read the links shared by @koalagris , @lingma85

The most important thing, in light of your question, is to know that eBay doesn’t buy anything and doesn’t sell anything...
From there... a buyer is put in touch with a seller (dropshipper or not...) and in case of a problem, eBay only provides one or the other with tools to solve issues when there are any (item not received, not as described, broken, etc.)...
If, as a seller, you want to do dropshipping, you’d better know your supplier well, because if you send them your own customer’s order, that customer only knows you... and in case of a problem, you’re the first line to deal with it (negative reviews to back it up)...
Now to answer your questions exactly----->
- Is dropshipping on eBay a secure online sales method?
Nothing is secure by default.... since eBay (as already said) doesn’t sell anything... it all depends on the seller...
- How does eBay track orders to know whether the buyer has actually received their order?
Order tracking is done by tracking number for shipments... then by whether a problem is reported or not....
- Is it possible for a buyer to claim they did not receive their order and how does eBay handle this kind of situation?
Any shipment sent without a tracking number or registered mail can be the victim of bad faith, since there is no proof of shipment or receipt.
To find out more.... check the site’s terms and conditions... it may seem a bit long to read... but it’s essential to avoid unpleasant surprises
As a buyer, if you have a seller who practices this kind of stocking, you run the risk of not receiving the item listed, but a facsimile... in addition, you will also have customs clearance fees to expect, because Asian countries are not the suburbs of Paris...

OP2 years agoThanks for your answers, I have a few last questions: to do dropshipping on eBay, do you have to place an order, for example on AliExpress, after a customer buys with their address, and provide the order number to eBay? If so, how do you get their address? Is it the seller who indicates the delivery time in their listing?

Don't mix apples and oranges... in e-commerce, it's = each to their own, and each with their own customers/buyers.....
On the other hand.... be careful with wholesale sellers... they can be your own competitors on the same platforms where you'll be selling.... in which case you're heading straight into a wall...
Don't start selling what's the top seller.... look for niches (while knowing that the idea will only be profitable for a few months... then the competition will jump on it...)

OP2 years agoI didn't quite understand your answer, so I'll rephrase my question: after someone buys me on ebay, do I need to place the order on another site using the buyer's address, and would I then be able to obtain proof of this transaction in the form of a tracking number?
Thank you for your understanding.

You’re asking, in fact, for the instructions that you should work out with your supplier....
The rule is that it should go like this--->
- when a customer places an order, you, as an eBay seller, pass the order details on to the supplier, who then ships the product directly to your customer with tracking or without tracking...
The other details need to be sorted out with your supplier.... because that depends on them and not on anyone’s opinion on the forum...
But, you seem to be a real beginner in this field and it would be good if you took a little tour of the web to learn more about this sales method and what comes out of it, both good and bad.... before doing anything... (this is also called the beginning of "training" which is essential for doing business online or in the real world...)
Kind regards

allowed: yes
secure: no (the seller remains fully responsible for the proper delivery of the items; whether they do drop shipping or not changes absolutely nothing for eBay, which will handle disputes exactly the same way)

So, a method to be discouraged... better to have your stock and handle the shipments.
